أكدت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء أنها منعت دخول أكثر من 301 طن من المنتجات الغذائية المخالفة إلى المملكة خلال الربع الثاني من العام الحالي، بعد ثبوت تلوثها بميكروبات قد تؤدي إلى التسمم الغذائي.
وأوضحت «الغذاء والدواء» أن هذا الإجراء يندرج ضمن جهودها الرقابية الرامية إلى حماية صحة المستهلك، وتعزيز الالتزام بالأنظمة والاشتراطات المعتمدة، بما يؤكد فاعلية منظومتها الرقابية في التحقق من سلامة المنتجات الغذائية ويسهم في حماية الصحة العامة وتعزيز سلامة الغذاء.
وفي السياق ذاته، نفذت الهيئة خلال الفترة نفسها 17096 زيارة تفتيشية على المنشآت الخاضعة لرقابتها، أسفرت عن ضبط 1960 منشأة مخالفة، و1016 منتجاً مخالفاً، وذلك ضمن جهودها المستمرة لرفع مستوى الامتثال، والتحقق من التزام المنشآت الواقعة ضمن نطاق إشرافها بالأنظمة واللوائح الفنية المعتمدة، وتعزيز سلامة المنتجات المتداولة في الأسواق.
ولفتت «الغذاء والدواء» إلى ضرورة التقيد بالأنظمة والتشريعات الرسمية، مؤكدة في الوقت ذاته استمرار جهودها الرقابية على المنتجات والمنشآت الخاضعة لإشرافها، واتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية بحق المخالفين، والتي قد تصل إلى إيقاف النشاط أو السجن أو غرامات مالية تصل إلى 10 ملايين ريال سعودي، كما دعت الجميع إلى الإبلاغ عن المخالفات المرصودة عبر الرقم الموحد 19999.
The General Authority for Food and Drug Administration confirmed that it has prevented the entry of more than 301 tons of non-compliant food products into the Kingdom during the second quarter of this year, after it was proven that they were contaminated with microbes that could lead to food poisoning.
The "Food and Drug" Authority explained that this action falls within its regulatory efforts aimed at protecting consumer health and enhancing compliance with the approved regulations and requirements, which confirms the effectiveness of its regulatory system in verifying the safety of food products and contributes to protecting public health and enhancing food safety.
In the same context, the Authority conducted 17,096 inspection visits to the facilities under its supervision during the same period, resulting in the detection of 1,960 non-compliant facilities and 1,016 non-compliant products, as part of its ongoing efforts to raise the level of compliance and verify that the facilities within its oversight adhere to the approved regulations and technical standards, and to enhance the safety of products available in the markets.
The "Food and Drug" Authority emphasized the necessity of adhering to official regulations and legislation, while also confirming the continuation of its regulatory efforts on the products and facilities under its supervision, and taking legal actions against violators, which may include suspension of activity, imprisonment, or financial fines of up to 10 million Saudi Riyals. It also urged everyone to report any observed violations through the unified number 19999.
