أعرب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم البديوي، عن إدانته واستنكاره بأشد العبارات الهجوم الإيراني العدواني الذي استهدف ناقلتي النفط «ممباسا» و«الباهية» التابعتين لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وأسفر عن مقتل أحد أفراد الطاقم وإصابة عدد من الآخرين. وأكّد أن الاعتداء الإرهابي يعد انتهاكاً سافراً وخرقاً جسيماً لمبادئ القانون الدولي، وقواعد حرية الملاحة البحرية، ومخالفة صريحة لقرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2817، الذي شدد على ضرورة حماية الملاحة الدولية، وعدم استهداف السفن التجارية أو تعريض الممرات البحرية للخطر. وأوضح أن مجلس التعاون يقف صفاً واحداً مع دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ويؤيد جميع الإجراءات التي تتخذها لحماية أمنها وسيادتها وسلامة منشآتها ومصالحها الحيوية، داعياً المجتمع الدولي، ولا سيما مجلس الأمن، إلى تحمل مسؤولياته القانونية والأخلاقية، واتخاذ موقف حازم ورادع تجاه هذه الاعتداءات الإيرانية الخطيرة والمتكررة، بما يضمن وقفها فوراً، ومحاسبة مرتكبيها، وتأمين حرية الملاحة الدولية، والحفاظ على أمن واستقرار المنطقة والاقتصاد العالمي. وأعرب البديوي عن تعازيه ومواساته لأسرة الضحية، وتمنياته للمصابين بالشفاء العاجل.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, expressed his condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the Iranian aggressive attack that targeted the oil tankers "Mombasa" and "Al-Bahiyah," which belong to the United Arab Emirates. This attack resulted in the death of one crew member and injuries to several others. He affirmed that the terrorist assault constitutes a blatant violation and a serious breach of the principles of international law, the rules of freedom of maritime navigation, and a clear violation of Security Council Resolution 2817, which emphasized the necessity of protecting international navigation and not targeting commercial vessels or endangering maritime passages. He clarified that the Gulf Cooperation Council stands united with the United Arab Emirates and supports all measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its facilities and vital interests. He called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to take a firm and deterrent stance against these dangerous and repeated Iranian assaults, ensuring their immediate cessation, holding the perpetrators accountable, securing freedom of international navigation, and maintaining the security and stability of the region and the global economy. Al-Budaiwi expressed his condolences and sympathy to the family of the victim and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
