وتواجه أوروبا تحدياً كبيراً في إعادة ملء مخزونات الغاز قبل حلول فصل الشتاء القادم، في وقت أصبحت فيه الإمدادات العالمية المحدودة أكثر تكلفة.
التطورات الجيوسياسية
وارتفع العقد الهولندي القياسي للغاز تسليم الشهر القادم إلى نحو 50.65 يورو لكل ميغاواط/ساعة، فيما ارتفع العقد البريطاني المماثل بنحو 5٪، وتفاعلت الأسواق بحذر مع التطورات الجيوسياسية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وتجدد الحرب بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.
وقال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب: «إن الولايات المتحدة ستصبح حارس مضيق هرمز، وستعيد فرض الحصار على السفن الإيرانية، وستفرض رسوماً بنسبة 20٪ على جميع الشحنات الأخرى مقابل ضمان مرورها الآمن عبر المضيق».
وأدت الحرب في الشرق الأوسط بالفعل إلى قطع جزء كبير من تدفقات الطاقة العالمية، بما في ذلك نحو خمس إمدادات الغاز الطبيعي المسال في العالم.
European natural gas prices have risen to their highest levels in 90 days, with benchmark gas futures increasing by 3.6% for the second consecutive day, amid growing concerns about global liquefied natural gas supplies.
Europe is facing a significant challenge in replenishing gas stocks before the upcoming winter, as global supplies have become more costly and limited.
Geopolitical Developments
The Dutch benchmark gas contract for next month has risen to around €50.65 per megawatt-hour, while the equivalent British contract increased by about 5%, with markets reacting cautiously to geopolitical developments in the Middle East and the renewed conflict between the United States and Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "The United States will become the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz, will reinstate the blockade on Iranian ships, and will impose a 20% fee on all other shipments in exchange for ensuring their safe passage through the strait."
The war in the Middle East has already led to a significant disruption of global energy flows, including about one-fifth of the world's liquefied natural gas supplies.
