استقبل مطار أبها الدولي أولى رحلات طيران السلام، الناقل الاقتصادي لسلطنة عُمان، إلى منطقة عسير، بحضور ممثلين عن برنامج الربط الجوي، والهيئة السعودية للسياحة، وهيئة تطوير منطقة عسير، إلى جانب مسؤولي المطار، في مشهد يعكس أهمية هذا الربط الجوي الجديد في دعم الحراك السياحي والاقتصادي بالمنطقة.

وبهذه المناسبة، أكّد الأمير تركي بن طلال رئيس هيئة عسير، سعادته بأن تكون الرحلات المباشرة من سلطنة عُمان، مشيرًا إلى «أن هيئة تطوير منطقة عسير، بالشراكة المميزة مع برنامج الربط الجوي، ستواصل العمل على مدّ جسور الوصول إلى عسير من وجهات دولية أخرى باتباع خطة زمنية منضبطة، بما يعزز حضورها على خارطة السياحة العالمية ضمن رحلة الصعود.»

ويُتوقع أن يُسهم هذا الخط المباشر في تنشيط الحركة السياحية بين سلطنة عُمان ومنطقة عسير،
ويُذكر أن طيران السلام العُماني سيُسيّر رحلات مسقط – أبها بمعدل 4 رحلات أسبوعيًا، بما يوفّر للمسافرين خيارات سفر مرنة.

Abha International Airport welcomed the first flight of Salam Air, the budget carrier from the Sultanate of Oman, to the Asir region, with the presence of representatives from the Air Connectivity Program, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and the Asir Development Authority, alongside airport officials, in a scene that reflects the importance of this new air link in supporting the tourism and economic movement in the region.

On this occasion, Prince Turki bin Talal, Chairman of the Asir Authority, expressed his happiness that there are direct flights from the Sultanate of Oman, noting that "the Asir Development Authority, in a distinguished partnership with the Air Connectivity Program, will continue to work on extending bridges to access Asir from other international destinations according to a disciplined timeline, which enhances its presence on the global tourism map in the journey of ascent."

This direct route is expected to stimulate tourism movement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Asir region,
and it is worth mentioning that Salam Air will operate Muscat - Abha flights at a rate of 4 flights per week, providing travelers with flexible travel options.
