أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أنه سيصدر توجيهات عاجلة لجميع الوكالات الاتحادية لبدء نشر الملفات الحكومية المتعلقة بـالأجسام الطائرة المجهولة والكائنات الفضائية، في خطوة وصفها بأنها «مهمة ومثيرة للاهتمام للغاية».
وأشار ترمب في منشور على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي إلى أنه سيكلّف وزير الدفاع بيت هيغسيث ووكالات أخرى بالإشراف على نشر المعلومات، في وقت أثار فيه جدلاً واسعاً حول التصريحات السابقة للرئيس السابق باراك أوباما حول الكائنات الفضائية، متهمًا إياه بالكشف عن معلومات حساسة علناً بطريقة غير مناسبة.
وقال ترمب أثناء توجهه إلى جورجيا: «لقد أخرجها من نطاق المعلومات السرية، لم يكن يفترض به أن يفعل ذلك».
من جهته، أوضح أوباما (بعد حديثه في مقابلة سابقة) أن الكائنات الفضائية حقيقية نظريًا بالنظر لاتساع الكون، لكنه نفى وجودها في منشأة المنطقة 51 أو أي مختبرات سرية، مؤكداً أن احتمالات زيارتها للأرض ضئيلة جدًا بسبب المسافات الشاسعة.
وفي ظل هذه التصريحات، حذر العلماء من التسرع في تفسير أي ظواهر غامضة، مشيرين إلى أن معظم مشاهدات الصحون الطائرة تم تفسيرها سابقاً بشكل خاطئ، وأن البنتاغون لم يعثر على أي دليل على تقنيات خارج كوكب الأرض منذ نهاية الحرب العالمية الثانية.
ومع هذا الإعلان، يترقب العالم بحذر ما إذا كانت الحكومة الأمريكية ستكشف ملفات قد تهزّ معتقدات البشرية حول الحياة خارج كوكب الأرض، وما إذا كانت المنطقة 51 ستعود إلى صدارة النقاشات العالمية مرة أخرى.
US President Donald Trump announced that he will issue urgent directives to all federal agencies to begin releasing government files related to unidentified flying objects and extraterrestrial beings, in a move he described as "important and extremely interesting."
Trump indicated in a social media post that he will task Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other agencies with overseeing the release of information, at a time when he sparked widespread controversy over former President Barack Obama's previous statements regarding extraterrestrial beings, accusing him of disclosing sensitive information publicly inappropriately.
Trump said while heading to Georgia: "He took it out of the realm of classified information; he wasn't supposed to do that."
For his part, Obama (after speaking in a previous interview) clarified that extraterrestrial beings are theoretically real considering the vastness of the universe, but denied their existence at Area 51 or any secret laboratories, asserting that the chances of them visiting Earth are very slim due to the vast distances.
In light of these statements, scientists warned against rushing to interpret any mysterious phenomena, pointing out that most sightings of flying saucers have been misinterpreted in the past, and that the Pentagon has found no evidence of extraterrestrial technologies since the end of World War II.
With this announcement, the world is cautiously awaiting whether the US government will reveal files that could shake humanity's beliefs about life beyond Earth, and whether Area 51 will return to the forefront of global discussions once again.
