رغم حيوية الطريق السريع الرابط بين الشرائع - الطائف من جهة السيل ومسجد الجعرانة التاريخي، الذي تمت توسعته ووضع جزيرة وسطية كبيرة، إلا أن الأشجار غابت عن أشهر طرق الحج.
عدسة «عكاظ»، رصدت من خلال جولتها حاجة الطريق في الاتجاهين إلى زراعة الأشجار في الجزيرة الوسطية وعلى أطراف الطريق، مع تنظيم للأرصفة الجانبية، ووضع مجسمات جمالية ذات إضاءات هندسية حديثة، وتحديث إنارة الطريق، في ظل الكثافة الكبيرة من الحجاج والمعتمرين الراغبين في زيارة مسجد الجعرانة، الذي يُعدُّ أحد أهم المعالم في مكة، ويقصده الحجاج والمعتمرون للزيارة والصلاة فيه.
