نفذت وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية -ممثلة في وكالة الإشراف على العمليات التعدينية- 867 جولة رقابية على عددٍ من المواقع التعدينية في مختلف مناطق المملكة خلال شهر مايو الماضي، ووجّهت 148 إنذاراً للمواقع التعدينية المخالفة لنظام الاستثمار التعديني، وذلك تطبيقاً لمبدأ الإنذار قبل إقرار المخالفة.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية جراح الجراح أنَّ الجولات الرقابية المُنفَّذة خلال شهر مايو الماضي شملت 232 جولة في منطقة الرياض، و191 جولة في منطقة مكة المكرمة، و166 جولة في المنطقة الشرقية، و74 جولة في المواقع التعدينية في منطقة المدينة المنورة، و49 جولة في منطقة عسير، و42 جولة في منطقة تبوك، و29 جولة في منطقة القصيم، و25 جولة في منطقة حائل، و23 جولة في منطقة جازان، إضافة إلى 20 جولة في منطقة نجران، و7 جولات في كلٍ من منطقة الباحة ومنطقة الحدود الشمالية.
وأكَّد الجراح عزم الوزارة على مواصلة تنفيذ جولاتها الرقابية ومتابعة الأنشطة التعدينية، وضمان حماية القطاع من الممارسات غير النظامية، والمحافظة على الثروات المعدنية؛ لتحقيق الاستغلال الأمثل لها، إضافة إلى حماية المجتمعات المجاورة لمناطق التعدين وفقاً للوائح نظام الاستثمار التعديني.
وتهدف الوزارة إلى تعظيم القيمة المحققة من الموارد المعدنية في المملكة، وزيادة جاذبية قطاع التعدين ليكون الركيزة الثالثة للصناعة الوطنية وفق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، إضافة إلى إسهام القطاع في تنويع مصادر الدخل الوطني، وتنمية الإيرادات غير النفطية، حيث تقدر قيمة الثروات المعدنية في المملكة بنحو 9.3 تريليون ريال، تنتشر في أكثر من 5,300 موقع.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources - represented by the Mining Operations Supervision Agency - conducted 867 inspection tours at various mining sites across the Kingdom during the month of May. It issued 148 warnings to mining sites that violated the Mining Investment Law, in accordance with the principle of warning before declaring a violation.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, explained that the inspection tours carried out during May included 232 tours in the Riyadh region, 191 tours in the Makkah region, 166 tours in the Eastern region, 74 tours in mining sites in the Madinah region, 49 tours in the Asir region, 42 tours in the Tabuk region, 29 tours in the Qassim region, 25 tours in the Ha'il region, 23 tours in the Jazan region, in addition to 20 tours in the Najran region, and 7 tours in both the Al-Baha region and the Northern Borders region.
Al-Jarrah confirmed the ministry's determination to continue its inspection tours and monitor mining activities, ensuring the protection of the sector from irregular practices, and preserving mineral resources to achieve their optimal utilization, in addition to protecting communities adjacent to mining areas in accordance with the regulations of the Mining Investment Law.
The ministry aims to maximize the value derived from mineral resources in the Kingdom and increase the attractiveness of the mining sector to become the third pillar of the national industry in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to contributing to diversifying national income sources and developing non-oil revenues, as the value of mineral resources in the Kingdom is estimated at around 9.3 trillion riyals, spread across more than 5,300 sites.
