يخوض الفنان حمزة العيلي تجربة درامية جديدة خلال موسم رمضان 2027، من خلال تجسيد شخصية العالم والمفكر الراحل الدكتور مصطفى محمود، في مسلسل يتناول سيرته، تحت قيادة المخرجة كاملة أبو ذكرى، في تجربة يصفها العيلي بأنها واحدة من أصعب المحطات الفنية في مشواره.
وقال حمزة العيلي، في تصريح خاص لـ«عكاظ»، إن اختياره لتجسيد شخصية الدكتور مصطفى محمود وضعه أمام واحدة من أكثر التجارب صعوبة في مشواره الفني، خاصة أن الراحل لا يزال حاضرًا بقوة لدى الجمهور، لافتًا إلى أن لقاءاته وفيديوهاته ما زالت تحظى بمتابعة واسعة حتى اليوم، هو مايمثل تحديًا كبيرًا بالنسبة له.
دراسة الشخصية
وأوضح العيلي أنه بدأ بالفعل مرحلة التحضير للشخصية من خلال مشاهدة عدد كبير من التسجيلات واللقاءات الخاصة بالدكتور مصطفى محمود، بهدف الاقتراب من تفاصيله الإنسانية وطريقة حديثه وحضوره أمام الكاميرا.
وأشار الفنان المصري إلى أنه يسعى إلى تحقيق توازن بين الحفاظ على السمات المعروفة للشخصية الحقيقية، وإضافة رؤيته الخاصة بما يتناسب مع المعالجة الدرامية للعمل، مؤكدًا حرصه على تقديم الدور بالشكل الذي يليق بمكانة مصطفى محمود.
خالد النبوي ضمن ترشيحات تجسيد الشخصية
وأكد حمزة العيلي أن الاستقرار عليه لتقديم شخصية الدكتور مصطفى محمود جاء بعد ترشيح عدد كبير من الفنانين للدور، من بينهم الفنان المصري خالد النبوي، قبل أن يحسم صناع العمل اختيارهم لصالحه.
استعدادات مسلسل «مصطفى محمود»
وفي السياق نفسه، يواصل فريق مسلسل «مصطفى محمود» التحضيرات الخاصة بالعمل، إلى جانب إجراء المعاينات النهائية لمواقع التصوير، تمهيدًا لانطلاق عمليات التصوير خلال شهر سبتمبر الجاري.
وكان حمزة العيلي لفت الأنظار خلال موسم دراما رمضان الماضي، بعدما حظي دوره في مسلسل «حكاية نرجس» بإشادات واسعة، في عمل شارك في بطولته إلى جانب ريهام عبد الغفور، سماح أنور، تامر نبيل وآخرون، وهو من تأليف عمار صبري، وإخراج سامح علاء.

Hamza Al-Aili stated in a special interview with "Okaz" that his selection to portray Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud has placed him in front of one of the most difficult experiences in his artistic journey, especially since the late scholar is still strongly present in the minds of the audience. He pointed out that his interviews and videos continue to receive wide viewership even today, which represents a significant challenge for him.
Character Study
Al-Aili explained that he has already begun the preparation phase for the character by watching a large number of recordings and interviews of Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud, with the aim of getting closer to his human details, way of speaking, and presence in front of the camera.
The Egyptian artist indicated that he seeks to achieve a balance between maintaining the known traits of the real character and adding his own vision in a way that fits the dramatic treatment of the work, emphasizing his commitment to presenting the role in a manner befitting Mustafa Mahmoud's stature.
Khaled Nabawy Among the Candidates for the Role
Hamza Al-Aili confirmed that the decision to cast him as Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud came after a large number of artists were nominated for the role, including the Egyptian artist Khaled Nabawy, before the creators of the work finalized their choice in his favor.

In the same context, the team of the "Mustafa Mahmoud" series continues its preparations for the work, along with conducting final inspections of filming locations, in preparation for the start of filming operations during the current month of September.
Hamza Al-Aili drew attention during the last Ramadan drama season, after his role in the series "Hekayat Narjis" received widespread acclaim, in a work in which he co-starred alongside Riham Abdel Ghafour, Samah Anwar, Tamer Nabil, and others. The series was written by Ammar Sabri and directed by Samah Alaa.
