تواصل السلطات التركية عمليات البحث في بحر مرمرة بعد حادث اصطدام بين سفينتين تجاريتين قبالة سواحل إسطنبول، أدى إلى فقدان الاتصال بعشرة بحارة كانوا على متن ناقلة (توغبرك إمام أوغلو) التي غرقت لاحقًا عقب الحادث.
وذكر مكتب محافظ إسطنبول في بيان أولي أن سفينتين ترفعان العلم التركي اصطدمتا في مياه مرمرة، مشيرًا إلى أن إحدى السفينتين لم تُظهر أضرارًا واضحة، فيما انقطع التواصل مع عشرة من أفراد طاقم السفينة الأخرى. وعلى الفور، دفعت السلطات بزوارق خفر السواحل ومروحيات إلى موقع الاصطدام لتنفيذ عمليات بحث وإنقاذ واسعة.
وفي تحديث لاحق، أعلنت هيئة الملاحة التركية أن ناقلة (توغبرك إمام أوغلو) كانت محملة بالفولاذ عند وقوع الاصطدام مع ناقلة نفط، قبل أن تغرق في البحر، بينما لا تزال أسباب الحادث غير معروفة حتى الآن. ويُعد بحر مرمرة من أكثر الممرات البحرية ازدحامًا، ما يجعله عرضة لحوادث مماثلة.
وشهدت المنطقة، خلال السنوات الماضية، وقائع مشابهة؛ ففي ديسمبر 2025 اصطدمت الناقلة Kalbajar بالناقلة Alatepe قرب فلوريا نتيجة الرياح القوية، ما أدى إلى جنوح إحدى السفينتين نحو الشاطئ دون تسجيل إصابات. كما وقع حادث آخر في مايو 2025 حين اصطدمت سفينة البضائع AHMET CAN بسفينة الشحن PERSENK أثناء توجههما نحو مضيق الدردنيل، وتسبب ذلك بأضرار كبيرة في الهيكلين.
ويعزو خبراء الملاحة تكرار هذه الحوادث إلى كثافة حركة السفن في بحر مرمرة، وتعدد مناطق الانتظار والرسو، إضافة إلى الظروف الجوية المتقلبة والتيارات البحرية المعقدة التي تميز المنطقة.
The Turkish authorities continue search operations in the Sea of Marmara following a collision between two commercial vessels off the coast of Istanbul, which resulted in the loss of contact with ten sailors who were on board the tanker (Tugberk Imamoglu) that later sank after the incident.
The Istanbul Governor's Office stated in an initial report that two vessels flying the Turkish flag collided in the waters of Marmara, noting that one of the vessels did not show any visible damage, while communication was lost with ten crew members of the other ship. Immediately, the authorities dispatched coast guard boats and helicopters to the collision site to carry out extensive search and rescue operations.
In a later update, the Turkish Navigation Authority announced that the tanker (Tugberk Imamoglu) was loaded with steel at the time of the collision with an oil tanker, before sinking into the sea, while the causes of the incident remain unknown so far. The Sea of Marmara is one of the busiest maritime passages, making it prone to similar accidents.
The region has witnessed similar incidents in recent years; in December 2025, the tanker Kalbajar collided with the tanker Alatepe near Florya due to strong winds, causing one of the vessels to run aground without any reported injuries. Another incident occurred in May 2025 when the cargo ship AHMET CAN collided with the freighter PERSENK while heading towards the Dardanelles Strait, resulting in significant damage to both hulls.
Maritime experts attribute the recurrence of these incidents to the dense ship traffic in the Sea of Marmara, the numerous waiting and anchoring areas, in addition to the fluctuating weather conditions and complex sea currents that characterize the region.
