في واقعة مأساوية، قررت جهات التحقيق بالإسكندرية حبس 7 متهمين 4 أيام على ذمة التحقيقات، بعد اتهامهم بالتورط في الاستيلاء على أدوية خاصة بمرضى السرطان من داخل المستشفى الأميري الجامعي «الميري»، تمهيدًا لبيعها في السوق السوداء، في واقعة أثارت حالة واسعة من الغضب بين المواطنين ومرضى الأورام.
وشنت مباحث الإسكندرية ضربة أمنية من خلال إجراء التحريات اللازمة وعمل كمين لكشف المتورطين، وتمكنت من ضبط ممرضين اثنين بالمستشفى لقيامهما بسرقة أدوية مرضى السرطان، وبيعها لـ 5 آخرين «مساعدي صيادلة» من خارج المستشفى.
بدأت الواقعة عندما تلقت مباحث قسم شرطة العطارين بمديرية أمن الإسكندرية، بلاغا من رئيس قسم صيدلية الأورام بالمستشفى الرئيسي الجامعي، وعلى الفور تم تشكيل فريق بحث لتحديد المتورطين من داخل وخارج المستشفى، وتبين قيام اثنين من الممرضين بالاستيلاء على أدوية خاصة بمرضى السرطان مخصصة للعلاج على نفقة الدولة وإعادة بيعها عن طريق 5 مندوبين «مساعدي صيادلة»، وبلغ حجم الأدوية المسروقة نحو مليوني جنيه.
وكشفت التحقيقات الأولية أن المتهمين استغلوا مواقعهم الوظيفية داخل المنظومة الطبية والإدارية بالمستشفى، وتمكنوا من التلاعب في ملفات صرف العلاج وسجلات الأدوية، بما سمح بخروج كميات من العقاقير مرتفعة الثمن دون وجه حق.
وأفادت التحريات بأن الأجهزة الرقابية رصدت وجود مخالفات في كشوف صرف أدوية الأورام، إلى جانب عمليات كشط وتعديل في المستندات الرسمية، ما دفع إدارة المستشفى إلى إبلاغ الجهات المختصة وفتح تحقيق عاجل في الواقعة.
وبحسب التحقيقات، فإن بعض الأدوية المستولى عليها تُستخدم في بروتوكولات علاج السرطان وأمراض الدم، وتصل أسعار الجرعات الواحدة منها إلى آلاف الجنيهات، الأمر الذي تسبب في خسائر مالية كبيرة، فضلًا عن تأثيره المباشر على المرضى المحتاجين للعلاج.
وأمرت النيابة بسرعة الانتهاء من عمليات الجرد وحصر قيمة الأدوية المفقودة، مع الاستعلام عن وجود وقائع مماثلة سابقة، وطلبت تحريات المباحث كيفية تصريف الأدوية المهربة والجهات التي كانت تتسلمها خارج المستشفى.
وتواصل جهات التحقيق الاستماع إلى أقوال العاملين بالمستشفى والمسؤولين عن المخازن والصيدليات، وسط مطالبات بتشديد الرقابة على منظومة تداول الأدوية داخل المستشفيات الحكومية والجامعية، خصوصاً العقاقير المرتبطة بالأمراض المزمنة والخطيرة.
In a tragic incident, the investigative authorities in Alexandria decided to detain 7 suspects for 4 days pending investigations, after accusing them of being involved in the embezzlement of cancer medications from within the Al-Amiri University Hospital, in preparation for selling them on the black market, an incident that has sparked widespread anger among citizens and cancer patients.
The Alexandria police launched a security operation by conducting the necessary investigations and setting up a sting operation to uncover those involved. They managed to arrest two nurses at the hospital for stealing cancer medications and selling them to 5 others, "pharmacy assistants," from outside the hospital.
The incident began when the police department of Al-Attarine in the Alexandria Security Directorate received a report from the head of the oncology pharmacy department at the main university hospital. Immediately, a research team was formed to identify those involved from inside and outside the hospital, and it was found that two nurses had embezzled medications intended for cancer patients, which were allocated for treatment at the state's expense, and resold them through 5 representatives, "pharmacy assistants." The value of the stolen medications was approximately two million Egyptian pounds.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects exploited their positions within the medical and administrative system of the hospital, managing to manipulate treatment dispensing files and medication records, allowing large quantities of expensive drugs to be released unlawfully.
The investigations indicated that regulatory bodies had detected violations in the dispensing records of oncology medications, alongside alterations and modifications in official documents, prompting the hospital management to notify the relevant authorities and initiate an urgent investigation into the incident.
According to the investigations, some of the embezzled medications are used in cancer treatment protocols and blood diseases, with the price of a single dose reaching thousands of pounds, leading to significant financial losses, in addition to its direct impact on patients in need of treatment.
The prosecution ordered a swift completion of the inventory and assessment of the value of the missing medications, while inquiring about the existence of similar previous incidents, and requested police investigations into how the smuggled medications were disposed of and the entities that received them outside the hospital.
The investigative authorities continue to listen to the statements of hospital staff and those responsible for the warehouses and pharmacies, amid calls for stricter oversight of the drug distribution system within government and university hospitals, especially for medications related to chronic and serious diseases.
