شهد ساحل كوينزلاند الأسترالي حادثة مأساوية بعد أن فقدت فتاة مراهقة حياتها أثناء محاولة التقاط صورة للغروب عند نقطة مراقبة على ممشى ملكة المستعمرات بشاطئ موفات.
ووفقاً لصحيفة «ميرور»، ذكرت السلطات الأسترالية أن الفتاة البالغة من العمر 17 عامًا انزلقت وسقطت من ارتفاع نحو 30 مترًا، ما أدى إلى إصابتها بجروح قاتلة في الرأس، فارقت الحياة على إثرها الحياة في موقع الحادثة. وحاول المارة والمسعفون تقديم الإسعافات، إلا أن جهودهم باءت بالفشل، فيما أصيبت امرأة كانت تحاول المساعدة بجروح طفيفة.
وحذرت فرق الطوارئ الزوار من الاقتراب من حافة الجرف، مؤكدين أهمية احترام الحواجز وعدم تجاوزها، خصوصاً في المواقع الشهيرة بإطلالتها البانورامية على شاطئ موفات وبحر المرجان.
وتشير الحوادث المماثلة حول العالم إلى خطورة محاولات التقاط «سيلفي» عند ارتفاعات شديدة، كان آخرها انزلاق سائح من ارتفاع 40 مترًا ونجا بأعجوبة، ليبرز التحذير المستمر من مغبة المخاطرة لأجل الصور.

According to the "Mirror," Australian authorities reported that the 17-year-old girl slipped and fell from a height of about 30 meters, resulting in fatal head injuries, and she died at the scene of the incident. Bystanders and paramedics attempted to provide first aid, but their efforts were in vain, while a woman who was trying to help sustained minor injuries.
