شهد أحد الطرق السريعة في ولاية فلوريدا الأمريكية حادثة نادرة وغير متوقعة، حين اصطدمت طائرة صغيرة بمؤخرة سيارة أثناء محاولتها الهبوط اضطرارياً على طريق مزدحم مساء الإثنين الماضي. وأثارت الواقعة ذهول المارة وشغلت وسائل الإعلام المحلية والدولية.
وبحسب صحيفة «نيويورك بوست»، وثّقت كاميرا إحدى المركبات اللحظات المفزعة للاصطدام، حين ظهرت الطائرة من طراز بيتشكرافت 55 وهي تهبط بسرعة نحو الطريق المزدحمة في ساعة الذروة، لتصطدم مباشرة بسيارة تويوتا كامري موديل 2023. ووقعت الحادثة عند الساعة الخامسة و45 دقيقة مساءً في المسار الجنوبي للطريق السريع بمدينة كوكوا، بحسب إفادة دورية الطرق السريعة في فلوريدا.
وقال جيم كوفي، أحد الشهود: «رأينا الطائرة تهبط من السماء مباشرة، وكادت تصطدم بمركبتي». وأضاف بيتر كوفي، نجل الشاهد: «اعتقدت أنها ستتجنب السيارة، لكن عجلاتها اصطدمت بمؤخرة السيارة مباشرة، كانت لحظة مرعبة للغاية».
ولحسن الحظ، نجت قائدة السيارة البالغة من العمر 57 عاماً بإصابات طفيفة، بينما خرج كل من قائد الطائرة وراكبه البالغين من العمر 27 عاماً دون أي إصابات، وبقيا في موقع الحادثة لتقديم تعاون كامل للسلطات.
وتتولى إدارة الطيران الفيدرالية التحقيق في سبب الهبوط الاضطراري للطائرة، في حين تجري دورية الطرق السريعة تحقيقاً موازياً في الاصطدام، وفق ما أعلنت السلطات المحلية.
A rare and unexpected incident occurred on a highway in the state of Florida, USA, when a small plane collided with the rear of a car while attempting to make an emergency landing on a busy road last Monday evening. The incident shocked passersby and captured the attention of local and international media.
According to the "New York Post," a camera from one of the vehicles documented the terrifying moments of the collision, as the Beechcraft 55 plane appeared to rapidly descend toward the crowded road during rush hour, directly hitting a 2023 Toyota Camry. The accident took place at 5:45 PM on the southbound lane of the highway in Cocoa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Jim Coffey, one of the witnesses, said, "We saw the plane coming down from the sky directly, and it nearly hit my vehicle." His son, Peter Coffey, added, "I thought it would avoid the car, but its wheels struck the back of the car directly; it was an extremely terrifying moment."
Fortunately, the 57-year-old driver of the car survived with minor injuries, while both the pilot and the 27-year-old passenger emerged unscathed and remained at the scene to fully cooperate with the authorities.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the plane's emergency landing, while the highway patrol is conducting a parallel investigation into the collision, according to local authorities.
