في تصاعد مثير لطرق التهريب الحديثة، كشفت السلطات الأردنية محاولة جديدة لتهريب كميات كبيرة من المخدرات عبر طائرات مسيّرة إلى داخل المملكة، ما أعاد الاهتمام إلى تهديد «التهريب الجوي» الذي بات يستخدمه تجار السموم لتجاوز إجراءات المراقبة التقليدية على الحدود.
وقالت القوات المسلحة الأردنية، في بيان رسمي، إن قوات المنطقة العسكرية الجنوبية رصدت طائرة مسيّرة دخلت من الجهة الغربية مساء أمس (الجمعة)، وهي محمّلة بعبوات مخدِّرة، وعملت وحدات حرس الحدود بالتنسيق مع الأجهزة الأمنية وإدارة مكافحة المخدرات على إسقاطها ومصادرة المضبوطات قبل وصولها إلى وجهتها داخل الأردن.
وأضاف بيان الجيش الأردني أن العملية نفذت «وفق قواعد الاشتباك المعتمدة» وأن المواد المضبوطة سُلِّمت للجهات المختصة لإجراءات التحليل والمتابعة القانونية.
وتعتبر هذه الحادثة امتداداً لسلسلة محاولات شهدتها الحدود الأردنية خلال الأشهر الماضية، إذ لجأ مهربون إلى الطائرات المسيّرة كوسيلة جديدة للالتفاف على نقاط التفتيش والمراقبة الأرضية.
وسبق للجيش الأردني أن أحبط في يوليو الماضي محاولة مشابهة باستخدام بالونات طائرة مسيرة عن بُعد ومحمّلة بالحبوب المخدّرة تم إسقاطها داخل الأراضي الأردنية، ما يؤكد تنامي خطر «التهريب الجوي» الذي تحوّل إلى تحدٍّ أمني غير مسبوق في المنطقة.
وتشير معلومات عسكرية إلى أن الطائرات المسيرة تُستخدم ليلاً وبطرق متنوِّعة منها إطلاق شحنات بعلب مخدِّرة أو نقل حبوب مخدِّرة بواسطة حمولات مثبتة، ما يفرض تحديات استخباراتية وتقنية على فرق المراقبة الأرضية والجوية.
وتعكف الأجهزة الأمنية الأردنية حالياً على تعزيز أنظمة الرصد الإلكترونية وتطوير آليات الاستجابة السريعة، بينما أكدت القوات المسلحة استمرارها في تكثيف الدوريات ورفع جاهزية فرق حرس الحدود للتصدي لأي محاولات مماثلة. كما أشارت إلى تنسيق متزايد مع الإدارات المعنية لملاحقة الشبكات وراء هذه العمليات وتفكيكها عبر التحقيقات الجنائية والاستخباراتية.
ويرى خبراء أمنيون أن تزايد استخدام الطائرات المسيّرة في تهريب المخدرات يفرض نهجاً أمنياً متعدد الطبقات يجمع بين الرصد التكنولوجي، وتحديث القوانين، وتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي لملاحقة مصادر التوريد والطرق المستخدمة قبل وصولها إلى الأراضي الأردنية.
In an exciting escalation of modern smuggling methods, Jordanian authorities have revealed a new attempt to smuggle large quantities of drugs into the kingdom using drones, which has renewed interest in the threat of "air smuggling" that drug dealers are now using to bypass traditional border monitoring procedures.
The Jordanian Armed Forces stated in an official statement that the Southern Military Region forces detected a drone entering from the western side last night (Friday), loaded with drug packages. Border Guard units, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, worked to shoot it down and seize the contraband before it reached its destination inside Jordan.
The Jordanian army's statement added that the operation was carried out "according to the approved rules of engagement" and that the seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities for analysis and legal follow-up procedures.
This incident is considered an extension of a series of attempts witnessed at the Jordanian borders over the past months, as smugglers have resorted to drones as a new means to circumvent checkpoints and ground monitoring.
The Jordanian army had previously thwarted a similar attempt in July using remote-controlled balloons loaded with narcotic pills that were shot down within Jordanian territory, confirming the growing danger of "air smuggling," which has become an unprecedented security challenge in the region.
Military information indicates that drones are used at night and in various ways, including launching shipments in drug-laden boxes or transporting narcotic pills using fixed loads, which imposes intelligence and technical challenges on ground and aerial monitoring teams.
The Jordanian security agencies are currently working to enhance electronic monitoring systems and develop rapid response mechanisms, while the armed forces confirmed their continued intensification of patrols and raising the readiness of border guard teams to confront any similar attempts. They also indicated increased coordination with the relevant departments to pursue the networks behind these operations and dismantle them through criminal and intelligence investigations.
Security experts believe that the increasing use of drones in drug smuggling necessitates a multi-layered security approach that combines technological monitoring, updating laws, and enhancing regional cooperation to track down sources of supply and the routes used before they reach Jordanian territory.
