أعلنت المنظمة العالمية لصحة الحيوان، أمس (الثلاثاء)، أن العراق أبلغ عن تفشي سلالة شديدة العدوى من إنفلونزا الطيور بين دواجن في شمال البلاد.
وقالت المنظمة، ومقرها في باريس، نقلاً عن تقرير صادر عن السلطات العراقية، إن السلالة (H5N1) شديدة الضراوة من إنفلونزا الطيور رُصدت بين أسراب في بلدة بعشيقة، وأدت إلى نفوق 12 ألف طائر.
وأعلنت إيران أيضاً عن تفشٍّ للسلالة نفسها هذا الشهر.
والخميس الماضي، أعلنت وزارة الزراعة حظر استيراد جميع أنواع الدواجن والطيور بعد تسجيل إصابات بانفلونزا الطيور في إيران.
وأكد بيان للوزارة تلقته وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع)، أن «وزارة الزراعة من خلال دائرة البيطرة كثفت الإجراءات الاحترازية لفرق الرصد والتحري لمرض إنفلونزا الطيور، عقب إعلان إيران تسجيل إصابات في الدواجن».
وبيّن أن «الإجراءات شملت حظر استيراد جميع أنواع الدواجن والطيور (الحية والمجمدة) والبيض وطيور الزينة والجارحة وأي منتجات دواجن أخرى من إيران».
The World Organization for Animal Health announced yesterday (Tuesday) that Iraq reported an outbreak of a highly contagious strain of avian influenza among poultry in the north of the country.
The organization, based in Paris, cited a report from Iraqi authorities stating that the highly pathogenic (H5N1) strain of avian influenza was detected among flocks in the town of Bashiqa, leading to the death of 12,000 birds.
Iran also reported an outbreak of the same strain this month.
Last Thursday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced a ban on the import of all types of poultry and birds after cases of avian influenza were recorded in Iran.
A statement from the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) confirmed that "the Ministry of Agriculture, through the Veterinary Directorate, has intensified precautionary measures for monitoring and investigating avian influenza following Iran's announcement of recorded cases in poultry."
It indicated that "the measures included a ban on the import of all types of poultry and birds (live and frozen), eggs, ornamental birds, raptors, and any other poultry products from Iran."
