هينتون، الحائز على جائزة تورينج وأحد رواد تقنيات الشبكات العصبية، أوضح خلال مقابلة مع بودكاست «Diary of a CEO»، أن الذكاء الاصطناعي قد يتفوق في المهمات العقلية والتحليلية، لكنه لا يستطيع مجابهة التحديات التي تتطلب تنسيقاً حركياً دقيقاً وتحكماً فيزيائياً، مثل الأعمال التي تؤديها الأيدي البشرية المتخصصة.
وأشار إلى أن تطور المهارات الحركية الدقيقة لدى الإنسان -مثل تركيب الأنابيب، وضبط الصمامات، وتركيب التركيبات البلاستيكية والمعادن تحت ظروف بيئية متفاوتة- لا تزال خارج نطاق مهارات الآلات الحالية، لذا، سيظل السباكون في مأمن من الاستبدال الآلي على المدى المنظور.
وترسّخ هذه الرؤية أن أفضل خيار اليوم هو أن تبتعد عن الأعمال الروتينية النمطية، وتتموضع في الوظائف التي تتطلب مهارات عملية بشرية دقيقة لا يستطيع الذكاء الاصطناعي تقليدها.

The prominent scientist known as the "Godfather of Artificial Intelligence," Geoffrey Hinton, revealed that there is only one job that seems to be safe from the threat of automation, despite the rapid technological revolution, which is the profession of manual plumbing.
Hinton, a Turing Award winner and one of the pioneers of neural network technologies, explained during an interview with the podcast "Diary of a CEO" that while artificial intelligence may excel in mental and analytical tasks, it cannot face challenges that require precise motor coordination and physical control, such as the work performed by specialized human hands.
He pointed out that the development of fine motor skills in humans—such as assembling pipes, adjusting valves, and installing plastic and metal fittings under varying environmental conditions—remains beyond the capabilities of current machines. Therefore, plumbers will remain safe from mechanical replacement in the foreseeable future.
This perspective reinforces the idea that the best option today is to steer clear of routine, stereotypical jobs and position oneself in roles that require precise human practical skills that artificial intelligence cannot replicate.
