لقي أربعة عمال حتفهم وأصيب خمسة آخرون في حريق شب في ناقلة نفط راسية في حوض بناء السفن في مدينة «باتام» الإندونيسية.
وقال رادين بيمو دوي لامبانج مساعد مفوض شرطة «باتواجي»، إن الحادثة وقعت عندما كان العمال يشاركون في أعمال الصيانة والإصلاح على متن السفينة، حين نشب حريق أودى بحياة أربعة أشخاص وإصابة خمسة آخرين، لافتاً إلى إصابة أربعة عمال بجروح خطيرة، حيث يتلقون العلاج حالياً في المستشفيات المحلية.
ولفت إلى أنه نظراً لصعوبة الوصول إلى حوض بناء السفن، فقد اقتصرت جهود مكافحة الحرائق والإخلاء على أفراد السلامة الداخلية في المنشأة، مضيفاً أن ضباط الشرطة في موقع الحادث قاموا بتأمين محيط حوض بناء السفن والتنسيق مع سلطات الموقع لضمان إجلاء جميع الضحايا إلى المستشفيات المحلية.
وقد اشتعلت النيران في سفينة التخزين والتفريغ العائمة «فيدرال 2» أثناء رسوها في حوض بناء السفن «بي تي إيه إس إل» الإندونيسي في تانجونج أونكانج، بمدينة «باتام».
Four workers died and five others were injured in a fire that broke out on an oil tanker docked at a shipyard in the Indonesian city of "Batam."
Radin Bimo Dui Lambang, the assistant commissioner of police in "Batam," stated that the incident occurred while the workers were participating in maintenance and repair work on board the ship when a fire erupted, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to five others. He noted that four workers sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals.
He pointed out that due to the difficulty of accessing the shipyard, firefighting and evacuation efforts were limited to the internal safety personnel at the facility. He added that police officers at the scene secured the area around the shipyard and coordinated with local authorities to ensure the evacuation of all victims to local hospitals.
The fire ignited on the floating storage and unloading vessel "Federal 2" while it was docked at the Indonesian shipyard "PT ASL" in Tanjung Unkang, in the city of "Batam."
