تسبب راكب مخمور في حالة من الفوضى والذعر بين الركاب على متن طائرة تابعة لشركة توي للطيران، أقلعت من الوجهة السياحية الإسبانية غران كناريا إلى برمنغهام في الساعات الأولى من صباح (الثلاثاء)، بعد ضرب أحد أفراد طاقم الطائرة في نوبة غضب استمرت نحو ساعة.
وسادت حالة من الذعر بين الركاب، لحظة هبوط الطائرة وضغط قائد الطائرة على المكابح، إذ بدأ الرجل المخمور - وفقاً لشهود عيان - بالصراخ في وجه المضيفات بأن الطائرة ستتحطم، ونهض ليذهب إلى مقصورة المرحاض، وطلبت منه المضيفة أن يجلس مرة أخرى، وهو ما فعله، لكنه نهض للمرة الثانية وذهب إلى المكان نفسه، وكان هناك الكثير من الصراخ والصياح بينه وبين طاقم الطائرة، ثم لكم المضيفة في أنفها.
وبحسب صحيفة «ذا صن» البريطانية، فقد أجبر أفراد الطاقم المذعورين على الصراخ طلباً للمساعدة بينما كان 220 راكباً، بمن فيهم الأطفال الصغار، يشاهدون ما يحدث، حتى أن المضيفات حاولن استخدام «عدة التقييد» لإخضاع الراكب، لكنهن لم يتمكنّ من السيطرة عليه حتى بعد هبوط الطائرة، ما اضطر قائد الطائرة لاستدعاء الشرطة لاقتياده.
A drunken passenger caused chaos and panic among passengers on a TUI Airways flight that took off from the Spanish tourist destination of Gran Canaria to Birmingham in the early hours of Tuesday, after hitting a crew member in a fit of rage that lasted about an hour.
Panic ensued among the passengers at the moment the plane landed and the captain applied the brakes, as the drunken man - according to eyewitnesses - began shouting at the flight attendants that the plane would crash, and he got up to go to the restroom. The flight attendant asked him to sit down again, which he did, but he got up a second time and went to the same place. There was a lot of shouting and yelling between him and the crew, and then he punched the flight attendant in the nose.
According to the British newspaper "The Sun," the terrified crew members were forced to shout for help while 220 passengers, including small children, watched what was happening. The flight attendants even tried to use a "restraint kit" to subdue the passenger, but they were unable to control him even after the plane landed, which forced the captain to call the police to take him away.
