The official account of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo published a funny video showing Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump for Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs and African Affairs, tasting the famous Egyptian koshari dish at one of the most popular restaurants in downtown Cairo.
The video clip showed that "Boulos" not only enjoyed the popular dish, which is a symbol of Egyptian heritage, but also participated in preparing the koshari himself, interacting joyfully with the restaurant staff as if he were one of the team, in an experience shared by several members of the U.S. Embassy, including U.S. Ambassador Hero Mustafa Garg, which added an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm to the visit.
The video went viral on social media, highlighting Boulos's passion for exploring Egyptian culture, as he expressed his happiness with the koshari experience that he had heard so much about as a traditional Egyptian meal combining lentils, pasta, and spicy sauce, praising his experience at "Abu Tarek" restaurant, which is a famous destination for koshari lovers in Cairo.
This light moment came during an important official visit by Massad Boulos to Egypt, where he met with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, in addition to the head of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Hassan Rashad. During the meeting, Boulos conveyed U.S. President Donald Trump's greetings to President el-Sisi, emphasizing the depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States and both countries' commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields to serve mutual interests.
