عبر مكالمة جماعية، حرص رئيس نادي الوحدة حاتم خيمي، على تحفيز لاعبي الفريق والجهازين الفني والإداري، مؤكداً ضرورة تقديم أفضل ما لديهم من قدرات فنية لتحقيق الفوز في مواجهة فريق أبها مساء الأحد على أرض الأخير. كما وعد خيمي بتقديم مكافأة مجزية في حال تحقيق الانتصار، في رسالة تهدف لتعزيز الروح المعنوية للفريق بعد نتائج المباريات الأخيرة.
ويأتي هذا التحفيز في ظل استمرار منع خيمي من المشاركة في العمل الميداني بقرار الفريق الطبي، على أن يعاود التقييم بعد إجراء الفحوصات اللازمة يوم الثلاثاء المقبل.
على الصعيد الطبي، أظهرت الفحوصات التي خضع لها المدافع الوحداوي سعيد المولد حاجته إلى علاج مكثف لمدة أسبوعين، ما يمنعه من المشاركة في المباريات الرسمية والمناورات التدريبية الميدانية. وتعقدت مهمة المدير الفني روسمير بعد تعرض البديل في مركز الظهير الأيمن للإصابة، مما يستدعي الاختيار بين هاني الصبياني ورواف المقعدي لتغطية المركز في مواجهة أبها. وفي المقابل، منح الجهاز الطبي الضوء الأخضر للمدافع الجزائري فاروق الشافعي للعب بجانب العراقي علي عدنان.
وشدد المدير الفني روسمير على أهمية التركيز العالي من جميع اللاعبين في تأدية أدوارهم المهنية، لضمان حصد النقاط، خصوصاً بعد الأداء غير المقنع في آخر جولتين، إذ تلقى الفريق هزيمة ثقيلة أمام الدرعية في شوط واحد، وتعادل مع الفيصلي بهدفين رغم التقدم في النتيجة، مؤكداً ضرورة الخروج بنتيجة مشرفة وعدم إهدار النقاط.
وفي خطوة تهدف لإعادة إحياء لعبة كرة اليد بالنادي، عيّن خيمي اللاعب السابق في اللعبة محمد القرشي مشرفاً عاماً عليها، في محاولة لإعادة أمجادها التي شهدت خلال فترة سابقة الفوز بالدوري والكأس والسوبر، ومشاركة ناجحة على المستوى الآسيوي. وجاء هذا القرار بعد غياب اللعبة عن المنافسات لمدة أربع سنوات، خلال فترة شهدت تراجعاً كبيراً في مستوى المشاركة والإنجازات.
