وافتتح التسجيل ريفر بليت عبر لاعبه فاكوندو كوليديو في الدقيقة (12)، وبعد ثلاث دقائق من بداية الشوط الثاني، أضاف سيباستيان دريوسي الهدف الثاني للفريق الأرجنتيني، ثم رد يوسوكي ماتسو بهدف لأوراوا من ضربة جزاء في الدقيقة (58) قبل أن يؤكد ماكسيميليانو ميزا فوز ريفر بليت بهدف ثالث في الدقيقة (73).
وتصدر ريفر بليت ترتيب المجموعة الخامسة برصيد ثلاث نقاط وتذيل أوراوا الترتيب دون نقاط، قبل المباراة الأخرى بالمجموعة التي تجمع في وقت لاحق اليوم بين إنتر ميلان الإيطالي ومونتيري المكسيكي.
