The Al-Taawoun Club management issued an official media statement expressing its condemnation and outright rejection of the offensive chants directed at one of the Al-Hilal players by some individuals during the match between the two teams last night as part of the seventh round of the Roshan League.
The club emphasized in its statement that sports competition cannot be a justification for abuse, belittlement, or bullying of anyone's feelings, affirming that Saudi sports derive their values from the ethics of society and the principles of Islamic law, which are based on respect and the preservation of dignity.
The statement clarified that the chants that go beyond the limits of sports encouragement are individual actions that cannot be attributed to the aware Al-Taawoun fans, who take pride in their history of supporting their team with sportsmanship and responsibility.
It also confirmed through its statement that the club will take all necessary measures, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure that these violations do not recur and to deter any offenders, reaffirming its firm stance in supporting a refined sports environment that befits the name and status of Saudi sports.
