واصل الثنائي ميكيل أويارزابال وميكيل مورينو كتابة التاريخ مع منتخب إسبانيا، بعدما رفع كل منهما رصيده إلى هدفين في الأدوار الإقصائية من كأس العالم 2026، لينضما إلى قائمة أبرز الهدافين الإسبان في مباريات خروج المغلوب.
ويتصدر الأسطورة إيميليو بوتراجينيو القائمة برصيد 4 أهداف، سجلها جميعاً في مونديال 1986 بالمكسيك، أبرزها رباعيته الشهيرة في شباك الدنمارك بدور الـ16. ويأتي خلفه ديفيد فيا برصيد 3 أهداف، أحرزها خلال مشوار تتويج إسبانيا بلقب مونديال 2010 في جنوب أفريقيا، إذ جاءت أهدافه الإقصائية الثلاثة في البرتغال وباراغواي إضافة إلى هدفه أمام ألمانيا.
أما إسيدرو لانجارا وستانيزلاو باسورا فسجل كل منهما هدفين خلال مونديال 1950 في البرازيل، قبل أن يلتحق بهما في نسخة 2026 كل من ميكيل مورينو وميكيل أويارزابال، ليؤكدا الحضور القوي للجيل الحالي في تاريخ المنتخب الإسباني.
