أصبح حسام حسن ثالث مدرب أفريقي يقود منتخبًا إلى الأدوار الإقصائية في بطولة كأس العالم، عقب قيادته منتخب مصر للتأهل إلى دور الـ16 من مونديال 2026.
وجاء تأهل "الفراعنة" بعد الفوز على أستراليا بركلات الترجيح، ليحقق المنتخب المصري إنجازًا غير مسبوق ببلوغ الأدوار الإقصائية للمرة الأولى في تاريخه، ويمنح مدربه مكانًا بين نخبة المدربين الأفارقة في المونديال.
ويضم هذا السجل التاريخي المغربي وليد الركراكي، الذي قاد منتخب بلاده إلى إنجاز تاريخي في مونديال 2022، ثم مواطنه محمد وهبي، الذي كرر الإنجاز مع المغرب في نسخة 2026، قبل أن ينضم إليهما حسام حسن بقيادته منتخب مصر إلى الدور ذاته.
ويعكس هذا الإنجاز التطور اللافت للمدرسة التدريبية الأفريقية، التي واصلت حضورها القوي على الساحة العالمية، بعدما نجح ثلاثة مدربين أفارقة فقط في بلوغ الأدوار الإقصائية عبر تاريخ كأس العالم، كان آخرهم حسام حسن مع المنتخب المصري.

This historic record includes Morocco's Walid Regragui, who led his national team to a historic achievement in the 2022 World Cup, followed by his compatriot Mohamed Wahbi, who repeated the feat with Morocco in the 2026 edition, before Hossam Hassan joined them by leading Egypt to the same round.
This achievement reflects the remarkable development of the African coaching school, which has continued to maintain a strong presence on the global stage, as only three African coaches have succeeded in reaching the knockout stages throughout the history of the World Cup, the latest being Hossam Hassan with the Egyptian national team.
