يبدو أن مانشستر سيتي دخل فعلياً في اختبار ما بعد مرحلة بيب غوارديولا، بعد خسارته الثقيلة أمام أرسنال بثلاثية نظيفة في الدرع الخيرية قبل يومين، ورحيل عدد من أبرز عناصر الفريق، وفي مقدمتهم رودري وبرناردو سيلفا، بالتزامن مع تولي إنزو ماريسكا مهمة قيادة الفريق، في مرحلة تبدو مختلفة عن السنوات التي فرض فيها غوارديولا شخصية سيتي على الكرة الإنجليزية والأوروبية.
