وجاء مفاجأة الترتيب من الرأس الأخضر، إذ احتل الحارس فوزينيا المركز الثاني بعد أداء استثنائي أمام إسبانيا، بعد أن لعب دور البطولة في خروج منتخب بلاده بنقطة ثمينة أمام أحد أبرز المرشحين للقب.
وحل البلجيكي تيبو كورتوا ثالثاً بفضل تدخلاته الحاسمة التي أنقذت بلاده من الهزيمة، يليه الألماني المخضرم مانويل نوير الذي عاد بقوة إلى الساحة الدولية وساهم في تأهل منتخب بلاده إلى الأدوار الإقصائية.
