The Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi affirmed his country's commitment to building balanced relations with neighboring countries and not allowing Iraqi territory to be used to threaten the security of any of them, emphasizing the importance of protecting Iraq's security and sovereignty, and relying on dialogue in dealing with regional and international issues.

Al-Zaydi's statements come at a time when the region is witnessing rapid security and political developments, amid Iraqi efforts to establish a policy that spares the country the repercussions of regional conflicts and maintains stable and balanced relations with its surroundings.

No Threat from Iraqi Territory

The Iraqi Prime Minister stressed that Baghdad is keen on establishing balanced relations with neighboring countries, asserting that Iraq will not allow its territory to be used to threaten the security of neighboring states, in a message that underscores the Iraqi government's commitment to the sovereignty of the state and preventing its territory from being turned into a battleground for targeting other countries.

He emphasized the importance of protecting Iraq's security and sovereignty and resorting to dialogue to address regional and international issues and disputes.

September 30 Deadline

Regarding the presence of international coalition forces, the Iraqi Prime Minister announced that September 30 represents the final deadline for the withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq.

Al-Zaydi's statements place the issue of foreign military presence alongside Iraq's relations with neighboring countries within the framework of Baghdad's vision for the upcoming phase, which is based on enhancing Iraqi sovereignty and preventing the use of the country's territory to harm the security of its surroundings, while prioritizing dialogue in managing regional issues.

Invitation to Visit Saudi Arabia

Al-Zaydi met yesterday, Friday, with the Director of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan and his accompanying delegation, and he reiterated his rejection of the use of Iraqi territory as a launchpad for any attacks.

According to the Iraqi government presidency, Al-Humaidan conveyed to Al-Zaydi a message from the leadership of the Kingdom that included a renewed invitation for the Iraqi Prime Minister to visit Riyadh. Al-Humaidan also discussed with Al-Zaydi ways to enhance coordination and joint cooperation regarding security developments in the region.

The Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment in Baghdad to "establishing cooperative relations with Saudi Arabia, in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples, and contributes to supporting regional security and stability."

He reiterated the government's firm position on protecting Iraq's sovereignty and the interests of its people, and not allowing its territory to be used as a launchpad for any actions or activities that affect any other country, based on constitutional responsibilities and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of brotherly and friendly states."

The two sides agreed on "the importance of continuing security coordination and exchanging information between the relevant authorities, which enhances the ability to deal with any security challenges, contributes to taking appropriate measures within legal frameworks, and serves the security of both countries, enhances mutual trust, and spares the region the risks of escalation."
