غيّب الموت السفير الفلسطيني لدى مصر دياب اللوح، الذي وافته المنية صباح اليوم (الأحد)، في القاهرة، عن عمر ناهز 67 عاماً.
ونعى الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس، السفير دياب اللوح، ووصفه في بيان صادر عن السفارة الفلسطينية بالقاهرة، بـ«القائد الوطني»، مشيداً بـ«مسيرة وطنية ودبلوماسية حافلة بالعطاء، كرّس خلالها حياته لخدمة فلسطين والدفاع عن حقوق شعبها». وتقدّم عباس بخالص التعازي والمواساة إلى عائلة الفقيد وذويه.
يذكر أن دياب اللوح (1958–2026)، هو سياسي ودبلوماسي فلسطيني وعضو سابق في حركة فتح، شغل منصب سفير دولة فلسطين لدى عدد من الدول، أبرزها الصين واليمن وموريتانيا ومصر.
واعتقلته قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عام 1977، وحُكم عليه بالسجن 15 عاماً. وبعد خروجه، تولى مناصب عدة في السلطة الفلسطينية، قبل انتقاله إلى السلك الدبلوماسي عام 2005، عندما عُين سفيراً لفلسطين لدى الصين.
وفي عام 2013، عُين سفيراً لدى اليمن، قبل أن يتولى منصب سفير فلسطين لدى موريتانيا عام 2016.
وعُين اللوح سفيراً لدى مصر ومندوباً لفلسطين لدى جامعة الدول العربية في نوفمبر 2017، واستمر في منصبه بالقاهرة حتى وفاته.
The death of the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh, who passed away this morning (Sunday) in Cairo at the age of 67.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas mourned Ambassador Diab Al-Louh, describing him in a statement issued by the Palestinian embassy in Cairo as a "national leader," praising his "rich national and diplomatic career, during which he dedicated his life to serving Palestine and defending the rights of its people." Abbas extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased.
It is worth noting that Diab Al-Louh (1958–2026) was a Palestinian politician and diplomat, and a former member of the Fatah movement. He served as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to several countries, most notably China, Yemen, Mauritania, and Egypt.
He was arrested by Israeli occupation forces in 1977 and sentenced to 15 years in prison. After his release, he held several positions in the Palestinian Authority before moving to the diplomatic corps in 2005, when he was appointed as the Ambassador of Palestine to China.
In 2013, he was appointed ambassador to Yemen, before taking up the position of Ambassador of Palestine to Mauritania in 2016.
Al-Louh was appointed as ambassador to Egypt and representative of Palestine to the Arab League in November 2017, and he continued in his position in Cairo until his death.
