يترقب الشارع الرياضي السعودي غداً (الخميس) إعلان المدير الفني للمنتخب السعودي الأول لكرة القدم، اليوناني جورجوس دونيس، قائمة الأخضر الرسمية المشاركة في نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، وسط توقعات بإجراء تغييرات فنية على عدد من الأسماء التي حضرت في المعسكرات الأخيرة تحت قيادة المدرب السابق الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد.
ويُنتظر أن يحسم المدرب اليوناني خياراته النهائية بناءً على الجاهزية الفنية والبدنية للاعبين، إضافة إلى مستوياتهم مع أنديتهم في الموسم الجاري، في ظل رغبة الجهاز الفني في الوصول إلى أعلى درجات الانسجام والاستقرار قبل انطلاق البطولة.
كما تتجه الأنظار إلى إمكانية استبعاد بعض الأسماء التي اعتمد عليها الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد في الفترات السابقة، مقابل منح الفرصة لعناصر جديدة قدمت مستويات لافتة محليًا وقاريًا، ضمن خطة فنية تهدف إلى تعزيز الخيارات في مختلف المراكز.
ويخوض المنتخب السعودي خلال المرحلة الأخيرة من برنامجه الإعدادي عددًا من المباريات الودية، إذ يواجه منتخب الإكوادور 30 مايو الجاري في ولاية نيوجيرسي الأمريكية، قبل أن يلتقي منتخب السنغال 9 يونيو في مدينة سان أنطونيو بولاية تكساس، ضمن التحضيرات النهائية للمشاركة المونديالية. كما سبق للأخضر خوض مواجهتين وديتين أمام منتخبَي مصر وصربيا خلال مارس الماضي ضمن برنامج الإعداد ذاته.
ويطمح الأخضر من خلال معسكره الإعدادي والمواجهات الودية القادمة إلى رفع الجاهزية الفنية والبدنية، قبل خوض منافسات دور المجموعات في المونديال، التي يستهلها بمواجهة منتخب أوروغواي، ثم إسبانيا، قبل مواجهة الرأس الأخضر.
The Saudi sports community is eagerly awaiting tomorrow (Thursday) the announcement by the head coach of the Saudi national football team, Greek Georgios Donis, of the official list of the Green participating in the 2026 World Cup finals, amid expectations of making technical changes to several names that were present in the recent camps under the leadership of former French coach Hervé Renard.
The Greek coach is expected to finalize his choices based on the players' technical and physical readiness, in addition to their performance with their clubs in the current season, as the coaching staff aims to achieve the highest levels of harmony and stability before the tournament begins.
Attention is also directed towards the possibility of excluding some names that French coach Hervé Renard relied on in previous periods, in favor of giving opportunities to new players who have shown remarkable performances both locally and continentally, as part of a technical plan aimed at enhancing options in various positions.
The Saudi national team will play a number of friendly matches during the final stage of its preparation program, facing the Ecuadorian national team on May 30 in New Jersey, USA, before meeting the Senegalese national team on June 9 in San Antonio, Texas, as part of the final preparations for the World Cup participation. The Green had previously played two friendly matches against the national teams of Egypt and Serbia last March as part of the same preparation program.
The Green aims, through its preparatory camp and upcoming friendly matches, to enhance its technical and physical readiness before competing in the group stage of the World Cup, which it will begin by facing the Uruguayan national team, followed by Spain, and then Cape Verde.
