أسدلت محكمة التمييز في دولة الكويت الستار نهائياً على واحدة من أخطر وأعقد قضايا تهريب المخدرات التي شغلت الرأي العام طويلاً، بعدما أصدرت أحكامها الباتّة بحق شبكة تداخلت فيها صفقات السموم بالرشاوى المالية الكبرى، ووصلت حد الاشتباك المسلح وإطلاق النار على رجال الأمن والمكافحة.
مواجهة دامية في «إسطبلات الهجن»
لم تكن كواليس هذه القضية مجرد ضبطية عادية، بل بدأت تتدحرج ككرة الثلج عندما رصدت الأجهزة الأمنية شحنة ضخمة تضم نحو 27 كيلوغراماً من المواد المخدرة شديدة الخطورة، كانت قادمة من لندن وإسبانيا بهدف إغراق السوق المحلية.
لكن الإثارة بلغت ذروتها خلال مداهمة أمنية مباغتة نفذها رجال مكافحة المخدرات داخل إسطبلات الهجن، حيث تفاجأت القوة الأمنية بإشهار المتهمين للسلاح وإطلاق الرصاص الحي مباشرة صوب رجال المكافحة في محاولة هوليودية ومستميتة للفرار، مما حوّل الموقع إلى ساحة مواجهة ساخنة قبل أن يتم السيطرة على الموقف وضبط أفراد الشبكة.
وفجرت التحقيقات الموسعة صدمة أخرى، بعدما تبين تورط «مفتش جمركي» كويتي نجحت الشبكة في اختراقه عبر دفع رشاوى مالية بلغت 10 آلاف دينار مقابل استغلال نفوذه ووظيفته لتسهيل عبور الشحنات القاتلة عبر المنافذ الحساسة دون تفتيش.
وشهدت الجلسة الختامية في أروقة قصر العدل تطوراً قانونياً، حيث قررت محكمة التمييز إلغاء عقوبة الحبس المؤبد الصادرة سابقاً بحق المفتش الجمركي، وقضت ببراءته من تهمة الاتجار بالمخدرات، في حين أبقت على إدانته بملفات التهريب والرشوة ليصدر بحقه حكم نهائي بالحبس 7 سنوات مع الشغل والنفاذ.
وفي السياق ذاته، تضمن الحكم البات معاقبة متهم من فئة «البدون» بالحبس لمدة 10 سنوات نظير دوره الرئيسي في الواقعة ومقاومة السلطات، وحبس متهم سوري الجنسية لمدة 3 سنوات، مع إلزام المتهمين مجتمعين بدفع غرامة مالية 20 ألف دينار كويتي.
وأعادت هذه القضية المدوية فتح النقاش مجدداً في الشارع الكويتي حول ضرورة تشديد الرقابة والمحاسبة داخل المنافذ الحيوية، وضمان عدم اختراق شبكات التهريب الدولية للمنظومة الجمركية، بعد قصة جمعت في فصولها بين السلاح، والنفوذ، والمال الحرام، والسموم، وانتهت بكلمة فصل قاطعة من القضاء.

Bloody Confrontation at the "Camel Stables"
The behind-the-scenes of this case was not just an ordinary seizure; it began to snowball when security agencies detected a massive shipment containing about 27 kilograms of highly dangerous narcotic substances, which were coming from London and Spain with the aim of flooding the local market.
However, the excitement peaked during a surprise security raid carried out by anti-narcotics officers inside the camel stables, where the security force was taken aback by the defendants brandishing weapons and firing live ammunition directly at the anti-narcotics personnel in a desperate and Hollywood-style attempt to escape, turning the site into a hot confrontation area before the situation was brought under control and the network members were apprehended.
The extensive investigations revealed another shock when it became clear that a Kuwaiti "customs inspector" had been infiltrated by the network through paying bribes amounting to 10,000 dinars in exchange for exploiting his influence and position to facilitate the passage of deadly shipments through sensitive ports without inspection.
The final session in the halls of the Palace of Justice witnessed a legal development, as the Court of Cassation decided to annul the life imprisonment sentence previously issued against the customs inspector, ruling him not guilty of drug trafficking, while maintaining his conviction on smuggling and bribery charges, resulting in a final sentence of 7 years in prison with hard labor.
In the same context, the final ruling included sentencing a defendant from the "stateless" category to 10 years in prison for his primary role in the incident and resisting authorities, and sentencing a Syrian national to 3 years in prison, while collectively obligating the defendants to pay a financial fine of 20,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
This sensational case has reopened the discussion in the Kuwaiti street about the necessity of tightening oversight and accountability within vital ports, and ensuring that international smuggling networks do not penetrate the customs system, after a story that intertwined weapons, influence, illicit money, and drugs, ending with a decisive ruling from the judiciary.
