وقلب مانشستر يونايتد تأخره صفر-1 أمام ضيفه كريستال بالاس إلى انتصار ثمين ومستحق 2-1، الأحد، ضمن منافسات المرحلة الـ28 للمسابقة.
وبادر كريستال بالاس بتسجيل هدف مباغت حمل توقيع ماكسينس لاكروا في الدقيقة الرابعة من عمر اللقاء، الذي جرى على ملعب «أولد ترافورد»، معقل فريق مانشستر يونايتد.

ونفذ برونو فيرنانديز ركلة الجزاء بنجاح، بعدما وضع الكرة زاحفة على يسار دين هندرسون، حارس مرمى كريستال بالاس، الذي ارتمى في الجهة المقابلة، محرزاً هدف التعادل لمانشستر يونايتد في الدقيقة 57.
واستغل مانشستر يونايتد النقص العددي في صفوف منافسه، ليحرز السلوفيني بنيامين سيسكو الهدف الثاني لأصحاب الأرض في الدقيقة 65، في أول مباراة يبدأها سيسكو أساسياً منذ مواجهة برايتون التي خسرها يونايتد في 11 يناير الماضي.
واستقبل سيسكو تمريرة عرضية رائعة من الناحية اليمنى من خلال برونو فيرنانديز، ليسدد ضربة رأس قوية، واضعاً الكرة على يسار هندرسون، الذي حاول التصدي لها دون جدوى، لتستقر في مرماه.
بتلك النتيجة ارتفع رصيد مانشستر يونايتد، الذي حقق فوزه الـ14 في البطولة هذا الموسم مقابل 9 تعادلات و5 هزائم، إلى 51 نقطة في المركز الثالث.
في المقابل توقف رصيد كريستال بالاس، الذي تكبد خسارته الـ11 في المسابقة خلال الموسم الحالي مقابل 9 انتصارات و8 تعادلات، عند 35 نقطة في المركز الرابع عشر.
