سلامة النقل المدرسي ليست مجرد أنظمة وتعليمات، بل ثقافة ووعي ومسؤولية مشتركة، تبدأ من سائق الحافلة المدرسية، ومشرفي ومشرفات الطلبة والطالبات داخل الحافلات، والصيانة الدورية لوسيلة النقل المدرسي، والتعاون بين البيت والمدرسة والناقل والجهات المرورية والرقابية.
أما «السائق»، فهو المسؤول الأول عن قيادة الحافلة بأمان، وعليه الالتزام بالسرعات المحددة، واحترام التعليمات المرورية، وعدم استخدام الهاتف أثناء القيادة، والامتناع عن القيادة عند الشعور بالتعب أو النعاس.
وتأتي سلامة الحافلة بصيانتها دورياً، والتأكد من مخارج الطوارئ وأحزمة الأمان، والاهتمام بمرحلة صعود الطلاب ونزولهم، واختيار أماكن آمنة للتوقف، ومنع الطلاب من العبور أمامها أو خلفها، إلى جانب عدم بقاء أي طالب داخلها بعد انتهاء الرحلة.
ولا تكتمل منظومة السلامة من دون التعاون بين المدارس وأولياء الأمور وشركات النقل والجهات المرورية والرقابية، لتحديد المواقع الخطرة، وتنظيم الحركة أمام المدارس، ومتابعة التزام السائقين بالأنظمة، ونشر الوعي بين الطلاب.
إن حماية أبنائنا مسؤولية لا تقبل التهاون، فكل مخالفة مرورية قد تترتب عليها عواقب لا يمكن تداركها، وكل دقيقة يوفرها الاستعجال لا تساوي حياة طفل، فكل حافلة منها تحمل أمانة وأرواحاً غالية.
The safety of school transportation is not just about systems and instructions, but a culture, awareness, and shared responsibility that starts with the school bus driver, the supervisors of the students inside the buses, the regular maintenance of the school transportation, and the cooperation between home, school, the transport provider, and traffic and regulatory authorities.
As for the "driver," he is the primary person responsible for driving the bus safely, and he must adhere to the specified speed limits, respect traffic instructions, refrain from using the phone while driving, and avoid driving when feeling tired or drowsy.
The safety of the bus comes from its regular maintenance, ensuring the emergency exits and seat belts are functional, paying attention to the boarding and alighting stages of the students, choosing safe places to stop, and preventing students from crossing in front of or behind it, as well as ensuring that no student remains inside after the trip ends.
The safety system cannot be complete without cooperation between schools, parents, transport companies, and traffic and regulatory authorities to identify hazardous locations, organize traffic in front of schools, monitor drivers' compliance with regulations, and raise awareness among students.
Protecting our children is a responsibility that cannot be taken lightly, as every traffic violation may lead to consequences that cannot be reversed, and every minute saved by rushing is not worth the life of a child, as each bus carries a trust and precious lives.
