علمت «عكاظ» من مصادرها أن إدارة نادي الاتحاد تسعى بقوة لتمديد عقد النجم الفرنسي نغولو كانتي قبل نهاية العام 2025، إذ سينتهي عقد اللاعب مع ناديه الحالي في يونيو 2026.
وأوضحت المصادر أن الإدارة الاتحادية كثفت مفاوضاتها من أجل حسم ملف اللاعب كانتي قبل دخوله فترة الأشهر الستة (الحرة) في يناير 2026.
وكشفت المصادر أن الإدارة الاتحادية وكانتي يسعيان للتوصل لاتفاق نهائي حيال العقد الجديد بكافة تفاصيله المالية ومدة العقد، إذ لا يمانع اللاعب من تمديد عقده الحالي مع العميد.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن الإدارة الرياضية بنادي الاتحاد، بتوصية من المدرب كونسيساو، تسعى للمحافظة على مكتسبات الفريق الكروي الفنية، وتهدف لتمديد عقد كانتي مع النادي.
يذكر أن نغولو كانتي انتقل إلى نادي الاتحاد في 20 يونيو 2023 قادماً من نادي تشيلسي الإنجليزي، بعقد لمدة 3 سنوات، ينتهي في يونيو 2026، ونجح في تحقيق بطولتي دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين، وكأس الملك مع العميد في الموسم الماضي.

The sources revealed that the Al-Ittihad management and Kanté are seeking to reach a final agreement regarding the new contract, including all its financial details and the duration of the contract, as the player does not mind extending his current contract with the club.
The sources pointed out that the sports management of Al-Ittihad Club, upon the recommendation of coach Conceição, is striving to maintain the technical gains of the football team and aims to extend Kanté's contract with the club.
It is worth noting that N'Golo Kanté transferred to Al-Ittihad Club on June 20, 2023, coming from Chelsea FC, with a contract lasting for 3 years, which will end in June 2026. He succeeded in winning the Saudi Pro League and the King’s Cup with the club last season.
