انضمت المكسيك وكوستاريكا وجامايكا إلى ملف أمريكا لاستضافة كأس العالم للسيدات 2031، وذلك بحسب ما أكدته رئيسة الاتحاد الأمريكي لكرة القدم سيندي بارلو كون أمس (الإثنين).
وأعلن رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جاني إنفانتينو أنّ الولايات المتحدة تقدّمت بالملف الوحيد لاستضافة البطولة الموسّعة التي تضم 48 منتخباً.
وفي حفل إطلاق رسمي للملف في نيويورك، قال مسؤولون أمريكيون إن المكسيك وكوستاريكا وجامايكا، الدول الأعضاء في اتحاد أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والكاريبي (كونكاكاف)، ستستضيف أيضاً مباريات في البطولة.
وقالت بارلو كون في بيان: «نحن فخورون للغاية بقيادة هذا الملف لاستضافة كأس العالم للسيدات 2031 إلى جانب شركائنا في اتحاد أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والكاريبي (كونكاكاف) في المكسيك وكوستاريكا وجامايكا».
وأضافت: «معا، لدينا فرصة استثنائية لاستضافة أكبر وأكثر بطولات كأس العالم للسيدات تأثيراً في التاريخ».
وسيتم تقديم العرض المشترك إلى فيفا الشهر القادم.
Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica have joined the United States' bid to host the 2031 Women's World Cup, as confirmed by U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone yesterday (Monday).
FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the United States has submitted the only bid to host the expanded tournament featuring 48 teams.
At an official launch event for the bid in New York, U.S. officials stated that Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica, member countries of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), will also host matches in the tournament.
Parlow Cone said in a statement: "We are extremely proud to lead this bid to host the 2031 Women's World Cup alongside our partners in CONCACAF in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica."
She added: "Together, we have an extraordinary opportunity to host the largest and most impactful Women's World Cup in history."
The joint bid will be submitted to FIFA next month.
