يستضيف فريق الغرافة القطري نظيره الشرطة العراقي عند تمام الساعة الـ7:00 من مساء اليوم الإثنين على استاد خليفة الدولي في الريان، ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثانية من منافسات منطقة الغرب في دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة 2025-2026.
يدخل أصحاب الأرض والجمهور فريق الغرافة هذا اللقاء بعد الخسارة بشكل درامي في الجولة الأولى من الشارقة الإماراتي الذي أحرز هدفين في الوقت بدل الضائع ليحسم المباراة بنتيجة 4-3 ويصدم الفريق القطري بخسارة صعبة، وبعد إخفاقه في تجاوز دور المجموعات الموسم الماضي، سيعتمد الغرافة على أفضلية اللعب على أرضه هذه المرة لتجاوز عقبة الشرطة.
أما فريق الشرطة العراقي فإنه يدخل هذا اللقاء بعد أن فقد نقطتين ثمينتين في افتتاح مشواره أمام فريق قطري آخر هو السد، وذلك في الجولة الأولى من المسابقة، ويعلم الشرطة، الذي ودّع أيضاً من دور المجموعات في النسخة الماضية، أن عليه أن يبدأ حصد الانتصارات إذا ما أراد الاستمرار في المنافسة لفترة أطول، ويملك الفريق العراقي رقماً سلبياً إذ لم يحقق أي فوز خارج ملعبه في تاريخ مشاركاته بدوري أبطال آسيا.
وتقام الجولة الثالثة من منافسات الغرب يومي 20 و21 أكتوبر الجاري، إذ يلتقي يوم 20 الوحدة مع الدحيل في أبو ظبي، والشرطة مع الاتحاد في بغداد، والشارقة مع تراكتور في الشارقة، والأهلي مع الغرافة في جدة، ويوم 21 يلتقي شباب الأهلي مع ناساف في دبي، والهلال مع السد في الرياض.
