حقّقت جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن لقب بطولة الاتحاد السعودي للرياضة الجامعية للشطرنج، ضمن الموسم الـ16 لبطولات الاتحاد، التي استضافتها جامعة حائل على مدار ٣ أيام.
وتوج وكيل جامعة حائل الدكتور زيد الشمري، وممثل الاتحاد السعودي للرياضة الجامعية مدير البطولة علي المنيع الفائزين بالمراكز الأولى في المدينة الجامعية.
ونالت جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن المركز الأول والميداليات الذهبية، وجاءت جامعة أم القرى في المركز الثاني، إذ نال لاعبوها الميداليات الفضية، وفي المركز الثالث جامعة القصيم وحققت الميداليات البرونزية.
King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals achieved the title of the Saudi University Sports Federation Chess Championship, during the 16th season of the federation's championships, which was hosted by the University of Hail over a period of 3 days.
The Vice President of the University of Hail, Dr. Zaid Al-Shammari, and the representative of the Saudi University Sports Federation, the tournament director Ali Al-Munai, awarded the winners of the top positions at the university campus.
King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals secured the first place and gold medals, while Umm Al-Qura University came in second place, with its players winning silver medals. In third place was Qassim University, which achieved bronze medals.
