The Qatari club Al-Duhail qualified for the league stage of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League after defeating Iran's Foolad Sepahan 3-2 in the match held at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha as part of the preliminary round.

Ibrahim Bamba (11'), Adel Boulbina (24'), and Krzysztof Piątek (33') scored the goals for Al-Duhail, while Amin Habzavi (3') and Milad Zakipourkinji (90+3') scored for Sepahan.

The match started quickly when Sepahan took the lead just three minutes in, as Amin Habzavi capitalized on a ball inside the area and easily placed it into the net (3').

However, Al-Duhail's response came swiftly when defender Ibrahim Bamba rose to meet a ball inside the penalty area and headed it into the net (11'). After leveling the score, Al-Duhail tried to control the game and impose their style through varied playing methods, one of which led to the second goal for the Qatari team after a long pass sent by Tota found Boulbina, who received it inside the penalty area and struck it beautifully into the net (24').

Al-Duhail added a third goal when Krzysztof Piątek took advantage of a defensive error in clearing the ball, breaking free in front of the goal and successfully shooting from inside the penalty area into the net (33').

Sepahan managed to reduce the deficit in stoppage time when Milad Zakipourkinji followed up on a rebound from goalkeeper Salah Zakaria inside the penalty area and slotted it into the net (90+3'). The minutes passed after that until the final whistle announced Al-Duhail's victory and qualification for the league stage of the tournament.
