طالب المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر الكابتن حسام حسن بإعادة النظر في لائحة اللاعبين الأجانب بالدوري المحلي، مقترحاً تقليص عددهم من 5 إلى 3 لاعبين، معتبراً أن تجربة المنتخب في كأس العالم 2026 أبرزت أهمية منح اللاعب المصري فرصة أكبر للمشاركة بصورة منتظمة مع الأندية.
وقال في تصريحات تلفزيونية، إن تقليص عدد الأجانب إلى 3 لاعبين فقط سيسهم في زيادة عدد دقائق مشاركة اللاعبين المصريين، وهو ما سينعكس إيجاباً على اختيارات المنتخب المصري خلال الاستحقاقات القادمة.
وأضاف: كثرة اللاعبين الأجانب في قائمة الأندية تضع الجهاز الفني للمنتخب أمام تحدٍ كبير، موضحاً، وجود 3 أجانب فقط سيمنح اللاعب المصري فرصة أكبر للمشاركة.
وأشار إلى أن بعض الفرق تعتمد على عدد كبير من اللاعبين الأجانب داخل التشكيل الأساسي، قائلاً: «8 لاعبين من أصل 11 في الملعب أجانب، فمدرب المنتخب هيعمل إيه؟ وهيختار من أي فريق؟». ويقصد حسام حسن بهذا الرقم احتساب بعض اللاعبين الذين تُعاملهم لوائح الدوري كلاعبين محليين، مثل اللاعبين الفلسطينيين، وهو ما يقلل فعلياً من عدد اللاعبين المصريين المتاحين للاختيار.
وأكّد حسام حسن أن المنتخب المصري شارك في كأس العالم الأخيرة معتمداً على لاعبين من الدوري المحلي، ما يجعل توفير فرص المشاركة للعناصر المصرية في المسابقة المحلية ضرورة فنية لتوسيع قاعدة الاختيار والحفاظ على جاهزية اللاعبين الدوليين.

He added: The large number of foreign players in club rosters poses a significant challenge for the national team's coaching staff, explaining that having only 3 foreigners will provide Egyptian players with a greater opportunity to participate.
He pointed out that some teams rely on a large number of foreign players in their starting lineup, saying: "8 players out of 11 on the field are foreigners, so what will the national team coach do? Which team will he choose from?" Hossam Hassan refers to this number by counting some players who are treated by league regulations as local players, such as Palestinian players, which effectively reduces the number of Egyptian players available for selection.
Hossam Hassan emphasized that the Egyptian national team participated in the last World Cup relying on players from the local league, making it a technical necessity to provide opportunities for Egyptian players in the local competition to expand the selection base and maintain the readiness of international players.
