دافع المدير الفني للمنتخب الألماني جوليان ناغلسمان بشدة عن فلوريان فيرتز، بعدما فشل في التسجيل أو صناعة الأهداف في المباراة التي فاز فيها المنتخب الألماني على لوكسمبورغ 4-0.
تعرض صانع الألعاب فيرتز لانتقادات في إنجلترا بسبب ما اعتبره البعض بداية بطيئة لمسيرته مع ليفربول، بعد انتقاله من باير ليفركوزن في صفقة بلغت 155 مليون دولار.
وقال ناغلسمان للصحفيين بعد مباراة التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2026، أمس (الجمعة): «قام بعمل جيد. حاول كثيراً. لم يحالفه الحظ في فرصة أو فرصتين. ولكن هذا ليس خطأه».
وأهدر فيرتز (22 عاماً) فرصة لتسجيل هدف عندما اصطدمت كرته بالعارضة في الشوط الثاني، وأعرب مدرب ألمانيا عن عدم فهمه للانتقادات الموجهة للاعب في إنجلترا.
وقال ناغلسمان: «مازال اللاعب الذي يصنع أكثر الفرص في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز. إذا لم ينجح اللاعبون الآخرون في تحويل هذه الفرص إلى أهداف، فإن ذلك ينعكس سلباً على إحصاءاته. لكن هذه ليست حتى ثلث الحقيقة».
وأضاف: «أراه متحرراً تماماً. فيرتز لاعب يعرف جيداً ما يستطيع فعله، ويعرف كيف تسير الأمور في عالم كرة القدم»، طبقا لوكالة الأنباء الألمانية.
ويلتقي المنتخب الألماني، الذي يتصدر المجموعة الأولى بالتصفيات بفارق الأهداف، مع منتخب إيرلندا الشمالية بعد غدٍ الإثنين.
وقال ناغلسمان: «بمجرد تسجيله لثلاثة أهداف، سيصبح ملك الانتقالات. حالياً، يعتبر فقط لاعباً باهظ الثمن. هذه هي طبيعة الأمور، لكنه لا يهتم بذلك».

The playmaker Wirtz faced criticism in England for what some considered a slow start to his career with Liverpool, after moving from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth $155 million.
Nagelsmann told reporters after the World Cup 2026 qualifying match yesterday (Friday): "He did a good job. He tried a lot. He was unlucky with one or two chances. But that’s not his fault."
Wirtz, 22, missed a chance to score when his shot hit the crossbar in the second half, and the German coach expressed his confusion over the criticism directed at the player in England.
Nagelsmann said: "He is still the player who creates the most chances in the Premier League. If the other players fail to convert these chances into goals, it negatively impacts his statistics. But that’s not even a third of the truth."
He added: "I see him completely liberated. Wirtz is a player who knows very well what he can do, and he knows how things work in the world of football," according to the German news agency.
The German national team, which leads Group A in the qualifiers on goal difference, will face Northern Ireland this coming Monday.
Nagelsmann said: "Once he scores three goals, he will become the king of transfers. Right now, he is just considered an expensive player. That’s the nature of things, but he doesn’t care about that."
