كشفت لجان الرقابة التابعة للحزب الديمقراطي في الولايات المتحدة أكثر من 100 صورة ومقطع فيديو صادم من داخل جزيرة الملياردير الأمريكي الراحل جيفري إبستين، المعروفة باسم «ليتل سانت جيمس»، والتي تحولت، وفق التحقيقات، إلى مركز لاحتجاز واغتصاب النساء والفتيات القاصرات.
واشترى إبستين الجزيرة عام 1998 بمبلغ 6 ملايين جنيه إسترليني، وحولها إلى ملاذ للاعتداءات، حيث منع الضحايا من مغادرة المكان، وفق تقارير أمريكية. الصور التي تم نشرها لأول مرة في إطار حملة للضغط على وزارة العدل الأمريكية لإصدار كافة ملفات إبستين، كشفت أغرب المقتنيات داخل الجزيرة، بما في ذلك سبورة كتب عليها كلمتا «القوة» و«الخداع»، وكرسي طبيب أسنان وطاولة تدليك محاطة بأقنعة مخيفة، وأخرى تصور رجالاً بملامح غريبة مثل أنف مدبب وشارب وخط شعر متراجع.
كما أظهرت المواد المصورة غرف نوم فاخرة وأحواض حمام تحتوي على غسول أطفال وعطور وكريمات ترطيب، فيما أشار أحد الشهود إلى أن الجزيرة كانت تُستخدم كسجن للنساء، حيث جرى احتجاز جوازات سفرهن وفرض عزلة كاملة عليهن.
في إحدى الغرف تم العثور على هاتف أرضي مزود بزر اتصال سريع لأسماء متعددة، بما في ذلك أزرار مرمزة باسم JEE، التي يرجح أنها تشير إلى اسم إبستين نفسه، بالإضافة إلى أزرار للتواصل مع المطبخ أو مكاتب أخرى. وتضم الجزيرة مسارات ملتوية تؤدي إلى مسبح وتمثال كبير لرجل يقف في وضعية رامٍ بسهم.
وتشير التقارير إلى أن إبستين اشترى الجزيرة بعد أن جمع ثروته عبر «وول ستريت» وإدارة أموال العملاء الأثرياء، ووصف في اجتماع عام 2012 جزر فيرجن الأمريكية بأنها «مثالية» لعزل نفسه عن العالم. وقد وصف المدعي العام لاحقاً الجزيرة بأنها «ملاذ مثالي لتهريب النساء والفتيات القاصرات لأغراض الاعتداء الجنسي».
وتشمل ما يعرف بملفات إبستين كافة الأدلة التي جمعها المحققون حول قضاياه وقضايا شركائه، بما في ذلك سجلات رحلات طائرته الخاصة، ورغم أن بعض الملفات أصبحت متاحة للجمهور، إلا أن العديد منها لا يزال محجوباً، مما يثير التساؤلات حول تورط أشخاص آخرين.
The oversight committees of the Democratic Party in the United States have revealed over 100 shocking images and videos from inside the island of the late American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, known as "Little Saint James," which, according to investigations, turned into a center for the detention and rape of women and underage girls.
Epstein bought the island in 1998 for £6 million and transformed it into a haven for assaults, where victims were prevented from leaving the premises, according to American reports. The images published for the first time as part of a campaign to pressure the U.S. Department of Justice to release all Epstein files revealed the strangest possessions inside the island, including a board on which the words "power" and "deception" were written, a dentist's chair, and a massage table surrounded by frightening masks, as well as others depicting men with strange features such as a pointed nose, a mustache, and a receding hairline.
The footage also showed luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms containing baby lotion, perfumes, and moisturizing creams, while one witness indicated that the island was used as a prison for women, where their passports were confiscated and complete isolation was imposed on them.
In one of the rooms, a landline phone was found equipped with a speed dial button for multiple names, including buttons coded with the name JEE, which is believed to refer to Epstein himself, along with buttons for contacting the kitchen or other offices. The island features winding paths leading to a pool and a large statue of a man standing in a throwing position.
Reports indicate that Epstein bought the island after amassing his fortune through "Wall Street" and managing the money of wealthy clients, describing in a public meeting in 2012 the U.S. Virgin Islands as "ideal" for isolating himself from the world. The attorney general later described the island as "an ideal refuge for trafficking women and underage girls for sexual purposes."
The so-called Epstein files include all the evidence collected by investigators regarding his cases and those of his associates, including records of his private jet flights. Although some files have become available to the public, many remain withheld, raising questions about the involvement of other individuals.
