وجّه الفرنسي ميشيل بلاتيني، الرئيس السابق للاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (يويفا)، انتقادات حادة لتقنية حكم الفيديو المساعد «VAR»، مشيراً إلى أنه لم يكن ليُطبقها لو كان لا يزال في منصبه.
وقال بلاتيني في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «ماركا» الإسبانية: «تقنية الفيديو؟ لو كنت متواجداً، لم أكن لأطبقها أبداً، صحيح أنها تحل بعض المشكلات، لكنها تخلق مشكلات أخرى أيضاً». وأضاف: «استخدام «VAR» يجب أن يقتصر على الحالات التي يصعب رصدها بالعين المجردة، مثل الأهداف والتسلل، أما في غيرها، فهناك حكام ومساعدون لاتخاذ القرار».
جيل رائع يودّع الملاعب
وعند سؤاله عن أكثر اللاعبين الذين يستمتع بمشاهدتهم، قال بلاتيني: «نودّع جيلاً رائعاً: دي بروين، مودريتش، جريزمان، كريستيانو، وميسي.. لكن في المقابل، يظهر جيل جديد من المواهب المميزة، مثل لامين يامال».
The Frenchman Michel Platini, the former president of the European Football Association (UEFA), has sharply criticized the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, stating that he would not have implemented it if he were still in office.
Platini said in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper "Marca": "Video technology? If I were present, I would never have implemented it. It is true that it solves some problems, but it also creates other problems." He added: "The use of VAR should be limited to cases that are difficult to detect with the naked eye, such as goals and offside; in other cases, there are referees and assistants to make the decision."

When asked about the players he enjoys watching the most, Platini said: "We are bidding farewell to a wonderful generation: De Bruyne, Modric, Griezmann, Cristiano, and Messi... but on the other hand, a new generation of exceptional talents is emerging, like Lamine Yamal."
