يترقب العرب تأهل منتخب جديد ليرافق المغرب وتونس والأردن لكأس العالم 2026، إذ يلتقي عند تمام الساعة السابعة من مساء غدٍ الأربعاء منتخب مصر بنظيره جيبوتي على ملعب العربي الزاولي بمدينة الدار البيضاء المغربية، وهو الملعب المعتمد للمنتخب الجيبوتي.
ويُعدُّ منتخب مصر مرشح لبلوغ المونديال للمرة الرابعة في تاريخه بعد 1934 و1990 و2018 ويكفيه الفوز للتأهل للمونديال إذ يتصدر جدول ترتيب المجموعة الأولى برصيد 20 نقطة بفارق 5 نقاطٍ أمام بوركينا فاسو، منافستها الوحيدة على البطاقة المباشرة، فيما تحتل جيبوتي المركز الأخير برصيد نقطةٍ يتيمةٍ.
ويحتاج المنتخب المصري، الذي يخوض المواجهة في ظل غياب عددٍ من لاعبيه، في مقدمتهم عمر مرموش، جناح مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي، إلى الفوز لحسم بطاقة المجموعة.
ويسعى محمد صلاح، قائد «الفراعنة»، إلى وضع بداية موسمه المخيبة للآمال مع فريقه ليفربول الانجليزي خلفه، واستعادة هوايته في هز الشباك بعد أن سجل 3 أهدافٍ فقط في 9 مبارياتٍ في كافة المسابقات الموسم الحالي، كما يحتفظ صلاح بذكرياتٍ أمام جيبوتي، إذ سجل «سوبر هاتريك» في مواجهتها ضمن الجولة الافتتاحية في القاهرة (6/ 0) قبل عامين.
