وعلى ملعب سانتياغو، تبدو أن منتخب مصر في أضعف المواقف بعد أن تعرض لهزيمتين متتاليتين أمام اليابان ونيوزيلندا، مما يعني أنه بحاجة إلى الفوز ولا غيره وانتظار نتائج المباريات الأخرى لصالحه، فيما يدخل أصحاب الأرض منتخب تشيلي هذا اللقاء بفرصتي الفوز أو التعادل بعد فوزه على نيوزيلندا وخسارته من اليابان، فالتعادل سيمنحه بطاقة أفضل ثالث، فيما الانتصار يمنحه بطاقة العبور المباشر.
