The Yemeni National Shield Forces announced today (Friday) that their troops, supported by the Giants Forces and tribal fighters, have taken control of the summit of Mount Numan and Dar al-Kafir, overlooking the districts of Al-Wazi'ah and Al-Mudharabah in Lahij Governorate, in a swift military operation.
The forces stated on their account on "X" that the operation began with a well-planned nighttime infiltration, followed by surrounding and storming the site at dawn, which forced the Houthi militia elements to flee, leaving behind human losses, weapons, and ammunition.
Mount Numan is considered a strategic location due to its oversight of the supply lines between Al-Wazi'ah and Al-Mudharabah, and the militia used it to monitor the area and shell the surrounding villages and sites. According to the forces, controlling these mountains will help secure the villages of Wadi Al-Mudharabah and the outskirts of Al-Wazi'ah, reduce sources of Houthi threats and shelling, and cut off one of the important infiltration routes.
In recent hours, the battlefronts in Taiz Governorate, the western coast, Marib, and Al-Jawf have witnessed continuous collapses of the Houthi militia.
Military sources in Taiz reported that the armed forces, with support from local residents, managed to regain control of several sites that were under Houthi control, including Al-Damdham School, the Martyrs Hill, and Quba Hill, in addition to large parts of the Shari'ra area.
Meanwhile, the people of Taiz Governorate organized a large food convoy for the armed forces stationed at the southern and western edges of the governorate in a show of widespread popular support for their fighters. The convoy includes various types of food supplies, water, blankets, and other materials to assist them in facing the Houthi militia.
