بعد جولة للمبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وكوشنر في روسيا وأوكرانيا وعقدهم لقاءات مع رئيسي البلدين، أكد الكرملين اليوم (الإثنين) أن روسيا لا تستبعد استئناف المفاوضات مع كييف برعاية من واشنطن.
وقال المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديمتري بيسكوف للصحفيين اليوم، إن لقاء الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين مع المفاوضين الأمريكيين شكل خطوة صغيرة نحو السلام، مبيناً أن موسكو تقدر جهود واشنطن لإحلال السلام. وأشار إلى أن بوتين أعرب عن امتنانه للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب لالتزامه بالسلام، لافتاً إلى أن موسكو لا تستبعد إجراء محادثة بين الرئيسين الروسي والأمريكي. وأضاف: «لا نستبعد إجراء محادثة هاتفية بين الرئيسين عقب زيارة المفاوضين الأمريكيين، سنبلغكم بموعدها وما إذا كانت ستحدث»، مشدداً بالقول: «لا نملك حتى الآن معلومات حول نتائج المحادثات بين المفاوضين الأمريكيين والمسؤولين في كييف».
تحضيرات لاجتماعات قادمة
في المقابل، كتب الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي على حسابه في "إكس" اليوم: عقدت اجتماعاً مع فريق التفاوض بعد محادثاتنا مع مبعوثي رئيس الولايات المتحدة في كييف، مضيفاً: «عقدنا ثلاث جولات من المفاوضات. انضم إلينا ممثلو مجموعة الثلاث الأوروبية – فرنسا، والمملكة المتحدة، وألمانيا، وأجريت أيضاً لقاءً خاصاً وجهًا لوجه مع ويتكوف وكوشنر لمناقشة نتائج اليوم».
وشدد بالقول: «الأمر الأكثر أهمية هو الاستمرار في العمل معاً بنشاط للحفاظ على مسار الدبلوماسية»، واصفاً المناقشات بـ«الجوهرية» والتي تطرقت لحاجاتنا في الدفاع الجوي، والتعاون التكنولوجي ذي الصلة، وحزمة الشتاء التي تحتاجها أوكرانيا.
وأفصح عن تحضيرات لاجتماع قادم قائلاً: «نحن ننسق خطواتنا التالية ونستعد للاجتماعات والتواصل القادمين»، مؤكداً أن اقتراحات أوكرانيا بناءة، وستظل كذلك دائماً.
مخاوف أوكرانية من استمرار الحرب في الشتاء
وكان مسؤول في الرئاسة الأوكرانية قال إن الموفدين الأمريكيين عرضا اقتراحات جديدة قد تكون أكثر جدوى لإنهاء الحرب، مبيناً أن الرئيس فولوديمير زيلينسكي عقد اجتماعاً معهما على حدة.
ونقلت وكالة فرانس برس عن المسؤول قوله: «ليس الأمر كما كان سابقاً، الاجتماع أكثر جدوى»، لكن الرئيس الأوكراني أعرب عن خشيته أن تستمر الحرب حتى الشتاء القادم نظراً لعدم رغبة نظيره الروسي في التفاوض معه مباشرة.
وكان المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف أعرب عن ثقته في إمكانية التوصل إلى تسوية جيدة للحرب في أوكرانيا، عقب محادثات جوهرية في كييف مع مسؤولين أوكرانيين، فيما دفعت واشنطن نحو استئناف المفاوضات الثلاثية التي تجمع الولايات المتحدة وروسيا وأوكرانيا، بحسب شبكة «سي إن إن».
وجاءت زيارة ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر، صهر الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، إلى كييف بعد محادثات مكثفة أجرياها مع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين في العاصمة الروسية موسكو.
After a tour by American envoys Steve Witkoff and Kushner in Russia and Ukraine, during which they held meetings with the presidents of both countries, the Kremlin confirmed today (Monday) that Russia does not rule out resuming negotiations with Kyiv under the auspices of Washington.
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters today that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the American negotiators represented a small step towards peace, indicating that Moscow appreciates Washington's efforts to achieve peace. He noted that Putin expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for his commitment to peace, pointing out that Moscow does not rule out a conversation between the Russian and American presidents. He added, "We do not rule out a phone conversation between the two presidents following the visit of the American negotiators; we will inform you of the timing and whether it will happen," emphasizing, "We do not yet have information about the results of the talks between the American negotiators and officials in Kyiv."
Preparations for Upcoming Meetings
In contrast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his account on "X" today: "I held a meeting with the negotiation team after our talks with the U.S. President's envoys in Kyiv," adding, "We held three rounds of negotiations. Representatives of the European trio – France, the United Kingdom, and Germany – joined us, and I also had a special face-to-face meeting with Witkoff and Kushner to discuss today's results."
He emphasized, "The most important thing is to continue working together actively to maintain the course of diplomacy," describing the discussions as "substantive," which addressed our needs in air defense, relevant technological cooperation, and the winter package that Ukraine requires.
He revealed preparations for an upcoming meeting, stating, "We are coordinating our next steps and preparing for the upcoming meetings and communications," affirming that Ukraine's proposals are constructive and will always remain so.
Ukrainian Concerns About the Continuation of War in Winter
A Ukrainian presidential official stated that the American envoys presented new proposals that might be more effective in ending the war, indicating that President Volodymyr Zelensky held a separate meeting with them.
The official was quoted by Agence France-Presse as saying, "It's not like it was before; the meeting is more effective," but the Ukrainian president expressed concern that the war might continue until next winter due to his Russian counterpart's unwillingness to negotiate directly with him.
American envoy Steve Witkoff expressed confidence in the possibility of reaching a good settlement for the war in Ukraine, following substantive talks in Kyiv with Ukrainian officials, while Washington pushed for the resumption of the trilateral negotiations involving the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, according to CNN.
Witkoff's and Jared Kushner's visit to Kyiv came after intensive talks they held with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Russian capital, Moscow.
