During the call, the two sides exchanged - according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry - today, assessments regarding ways to restore calm and stability in the region, and agreed on the necessity of maintaining the security and safety of maritime navigation and ensuring the smooth flow of trade and energy supplies.

Developments in the Palestinian Issue

Minister Abdel-Aty discussed during a phone call with the UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, the developments in the Palestinian issue in light of the daily and systematic Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories. The two ministers discussed - according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry - today, particularly the illegal Israeli settlement activities, and the escalating violence and assaults by settlers against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank. The ministers warned of the dangers of these Israeli practices and their repercussions, emphasizing the need for the international community to take urgent action and exert the necessary pressure to stop them.
