أدان الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، بأشد العبارات، الاعتداء الذي قامت به إيران باستهداف الناقلة السعودية (سدر) أثناء عبورها مضيق هرمز، والذي أسفر عن وقوع وفيات بين أفراد طاقم الناقلة.
وأكد أن هذا الاعتداء الإيراني يشكل تصعيداً خطيراً وانتهاكاً جسيماً لمبادئ القانون الدولي، وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن وسلامة الملاحة البحرية الدولية، بما يعرض أمن المنطقة واستقرارها وحركة التجارة العالمية لمخاطر جسيمة.
وأكد الأمين العام وقوف دول مجلس التعاون مع المملكة العربية السعودية في كل ما من شأنه أن يحفظ أمنها ومصالحها.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the attack carried out by Iran targeting the Saudi tanker (Sadr) while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the crew members of the tanker.
He affirmed that this Iranian attack constitutes a serious escalation and a grave violation of the principles of international law, posing a direct threat to the security and safety of international maritime navigation, which exposes the security and stability of the region and global trade movements to serious risks.
The Secretary-General also confirmed the solidarity of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all matters that would preserve its security and interests.
