كشفت مصادر مطلعة أن رئيس الوزراء العراقي علي الزيدي يدرس إجراء تغييرات واسعة في المناصب العليا داخل هيئة الحشد الشعبي خلال المرحلة القادمة، في ظل ضغوط سياسية تحيط بالملف.
وحسب المصادر، فإن التغييرات قيد الدراسة تشمل مناصب قيادية عليا في الهيئة، بينها رئيس الحشد الشعبي ورئيس أركان الهيئة، إلى جانب مناصب أخرى تشغلها شخصيات مرتبطة بفصائل مسلحة.
وأضافت المصادر أن التوجه الذي يدرسه الزيدي يتضمن إسناد عدد من هذه المناصب إلى ضباط من الجيش العراقي وجهاز مكافحة الإرهاب، إلى جانب شخصيات من داخل هيئة الحشد الشعبي. وأشارت المصادر إلى أن القرار لا يزال قيد الدراسة، مع بحث التداعيات والردود المحتملة عليه على المستوى السياسي الداخلي.
وذكرت المصادر أن أحد أهداف التوجه الحكومي هو حماية هيئة الحشد الشعبي من أي تداعيات محتملة خلال المرحلة القادمة، سواء كانت عسكرية أو اقتصادية ومالية، بما في ذلك احتمال فرض عقوبات دولية وأمريكية على الهيئة أو بعض قياداتها، في ظل استمرار سيطرة شخصيات مرتبطة بفصائل مسلحة على عدد من المناصب العليا والقيادية فيها.
ويأتي الحديث عن تغييرات محتملة في قيادة الهيئة وسط خلافات سياسية سابقة بشأن رئيسها فالح الفياض، إذ دعا زعيم عصائب أهل الحق قيس الخزعلي في مارس 2024 إلى استبدال الفياض، مستنداً إلى اعتراضات تتعلق بمدة بقائه في المنصب والجمع بين رئاسة الهيئة والعمل السياسي، فيما عارضت قيادات من فصائل أخرى طرح استبداله.
وكانت مصادر أكدت لقناتي «العربية» و«الحدث» أن الزيدي يصر على المضي قدماً في ملف حصر السلاح بيد الدولة، واضعاً خيارين للتعامل مع المليشيات في المرحلة القادمة.
وأفادت بأن الخيار الأول يتمثّل في التوصل إلى تفاهمات مع المليشيات تنهي ملف حصر السلاح، فيما يقوم الخيار الثاني على الانتقال إلى إجراءات أكثر حزماً لفرض حصر السلاح بيد الدولة.
Informed sources revealed that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi is considering making extensive changes to high-ranking positions within the Popular Mobilization Authority during the upcoming phase, amid political pressures surrounding the issue.
According to the sources, the changes under consideration include senior leadership positions in the authority, including the head of the Popular Mobilization and the chief of staff of the authority, along with other positions held by individuals linked to armed factions.
The sources added that the direction being studied by Al-Zaydi involves assigning some of these positions to officers from the Iraqi army and the Counter-Terrorism Service, alongside figures from within the Popular Mobilization Authority. They indicated that the decision is still under study, with discussions ongoing regarding the potential implications and responses at the internal political level.
The sources mentioned that one of the government's objectives is to protect the Popular Mobilization Authority from any potential repercussions during the upcoming phase, whether military, economic, or financial, including the possibility of international and American sanctions on the authority or some of its leaders, amid the continued control of individuals linked to armed factions over several high-ranking and leadership positions within it.
Talk of potential changes in the leadership of the authority comes amid previous political disputes regarding its head, Faleh Al-Fayyad, as the leader of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais Khazali, called in March 2024 for Al-Fayyad's replacement, citing objections related to the duration of his tenure in the position and the combination of leading the authority with political work, while leaders from other factions opposed the suggestion of his replacement.
Sources confirmed to the "Al-Arabiya" and "Al-Hadath" channels that Al-Zaydi insists on moving forward with the file of restricting arms to the state, presenting two options for dealing with the militias in the upcoming phase.
It was reported that the first option involves reaching agreements with the militias to resolve the issue of arms restriction, while the second option is based on moving to more stringent measures to enforce the restriction of arms to the state.
