نجح مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، خلال الأسبوع الأول من أغسطس، في نزع 5287 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة، في إطار عملياته المتواصلة لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من مخلفات الحرب والحد من مخاطرها على المدنيين، بحسب ما أعلنته غرفة عمليات المشروع.
وأوضحت الغرفة أن فرق المشروع تمكنت من نزع 5151 ذخيرة غير منفجرة، و69 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و24 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، إضافة إلى 43 عبوة ناسفة، كما تم تطهير 301,896 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي.
وفي مديرية ميدي بمحافظة حجة، أفادت غرفة عمليات «مسام» بأن فرق المشروع نزعت منذ بدء عملها في المديرية 11,366 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة.
وفي الوقت نفسه، أتلف المشروع 1861 قطعة من الألغام والمخلفات الحربية في مديرية ميدي التابعة لمحافظة حجة شمال غرب اليمن، لترتفع كمية المواد التي تم إتلافها في ميدي إلى 6002 قطعة، وتطهير 4,335,655 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي، ضمن جهود المشروع الرامية إلى تأمين المناطق المتضررة من الألغام ومخلفات الحرب وإعادة استخدام الأراضي بشكل آمن.
وتعد عملية الإتلاف هذه الثانية في غضون خمسة أيام، وشملت 316 قنبلة يدوية (عيار 40 ملم)، و1239 طلقة (عيار 20 ملم)، و169 قذيفة مدفعية (عيار 57 ملم)، و69 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و18 صاروخ كاتيوشا، و45 طلقة (عيار 23 ملم)، و5 قذائف مدفعية (عيار 122 ملم).
إلى ذلك، أعلن مدير المشروع أسامة القصيبي أن فرق المشروع نزعت منذ انطلاق أعمال المشروع في نهاية يونيو 2018 وحتى 7 أغسطس الجاري 583,513 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة، في إطار جهوده المتواصلة لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من مخلفات الحرب وحماية المدنيين من مخاطرها.
وفي محافظة مأرب، نفذ مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام عملية إتلاف وتفجير كميات من الألغام والقذائف غير المنفجرة في المحافظة.
وأكد مدير العمليات في البرنامج الوطني للتعامل مع الألغام (يماك) أحمد الأضمد، أن عملية الإتلاف التي نفذها «مسام» في مأرب جاءت بالتنسيق والتعاون مع الفريق الهندسي التابع لقوات الأمن الخاصة بمحافظة مأرب.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance in Yemen successfully removed 5,287 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the first week of August, as part of its ongoing operations to clear Yemeni lands of war remnants and reduce their risks to civilians, according to the project's operations room.
The room clarified that the project teams managed to remove 5,151 unexploded ordnance, 69 anti-tank mines, 24 anti-personnel mines, in addition to 43 explosive devices, and 301,896 square meters of land were cleared.
In the Midi district of Hajjah governorate, the "Masam" operations room reported that project teams have removed 11,366 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices since they began their work in the district.
At the same time, the project destroyed 1,861 pieces of mines and war remnants in the Midi district of Hajjah governorate in northwestern Yemen, bringing the total amount of materials destroyed in Midi to 6,002 pieces, and clearing 4,335,655 square meters of land, as part of the project's efforts to secure areas affected by mines and war remnants and to safely reuse the land.
This destruction operation is the second in five days and included 316 hand grenades (40 mm caliber), 1,239 rounds (20 mm caliber), 169 artillery shells (57 mm caliber), 69 anti-tank mines, 18 Katyusha rockets, 45 rounds (23 mm caliber), and 5 artillery shells (122 mm caliber).
Additionally, project director Osama Al-Qusaibi announced that since the project began its operations at the end of June 2018 until August 7, it has removed 583,513 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, as part of its ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni lands of war remnants and protect civilians from their dangers.
In Marib governorate, the "Masam" project for mine clearance carried out a destruction and detonation operation of quantities of mines and unexploded shells in the governorate.
Ahmed Al-Adham, the operations director at the National Mine Action Program (YEMAC), confirmed that the destruction operation carried out by "Masam" in Marib was conducted in coordination and cooperation with the engineering team of the Special Security Forces in Marib governorate.
