تعهدت دول حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو)، بينها الولايات المتحدة، اليوم (الأربعاء)، بالالتزام الثابت ببند الدفاع المشترك المنصوص عليه في المادة الخامسة من معاهدة الحلف.
ونص إعلان قمة أنقرة الصادر في اليوم الثاني والأخير من قمة الحلف، أن «الاعتداء على أي حليف هو اعتداء على جميع الحلفاء»، وقال: «تبقى وحدتنا وتضامننا وقوتنا الجماعية الأساس الذي يقوم عليه السلام والأمن والازدهار».
وجددت الدول الأعضاء الـ32 في الحلف دعمها الثابت لأوكرانيا في مواجهة العملية العسكرية الروسية التي بدأت عام 2022، مؤكدين أن أوكرانيا تساهم «في الأمن عبر الأطلسي وتدافع عن حريتها وسيادتها ووحدة أراضيها».
وأشار البيان أيضاً إلى تعهد الدول الأعضاء بتقديم مساعدات عسكرية لأوكرانيا بقيمة 80 مليار دولار خلال عام 2026، مع الالتزام بتقديم مستويات دعم مماثلة على الأقل في عام 2027.
وقال الحلفاء الأوروبيون وكندا والولايات المتحدة، في إعلانهم، إنهم سيتحملون مسؤولية أكبر عن الدفاع داخل الحلف، كاشفين عن مشتريات دفاعية جديدة تتجاوز قيمتها 50 مليار دولار.
من جانبه، قال الأمين العام لحلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو)، مارك روته، إن القمة التي عقدها قادة الحلف عكست شعوراً قوياً بالوحدة، مضيفاً: "شعرنا أن هذا التحالف أكثر تماسكاً من أي وقت مضى."
ودعا قادة دول الحلف إيران إلى احترام حرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، لما يمثله الممر البحري من أهمية حيوية لأمن واستقرار حركة التجارة والطاقة العالمية، مؤكدين أن موقف الحلف يدعو إلى منع انتشار الأسلحة النووية.
وأكد البيان على ضرورة عدم امتلاك إيران سلاحاً نووياً.
وذكر مصدر شارك في اجتماع قمة الحلف أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أكد لحلفائه الأوروبيين أن الولايات المتحدة تعتزم البقاء ضمن حلف شمال الأطلسي، موضحاً أن ترمب قال للحلفاء خلال الجلسة العامة لقمة أنقرة «نحن نريد أن نبقى معكم».
ويأتي نص إعلان القمة بعد ساعات من تأكيد ترمب استياءه من الدول الأعضاء في الحلف على خلفية قضايا عدة، أهمها الرغبة الأمريكية في الاستحواذ على إقليم غرينلاند، وعدم المساهمة في الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية على إيران.
NATO member countries, including the United States, pledged today (Wednesday) to a steadfast commitment to the collective defense clause outlined in Article 5 of the alliance's treaty.
The Ankara Summit declaration, issued on the second and final day of the alliance's summit, stated that "an attack on any ally is an attack on all allies," adding, "Our unity, solidarity, and collective strength remain the foundation of peace, security, and prosperity."
The 32 member states of the alliance reiterated their unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of the Russian military operation that began in 2022, emphasizing that Ukraine contributes "to transatlantic security and defends its freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."
The statement also noted the member states' commitment to providing military assistance to Ukraine worth $80 billion by 2026, with a commitment to provide at least similar levels of support in 2027.
European allies, Canada, and the United States stated in their declaration that they would take greater responsibility for defense within the alliance, revealing new defense purchases exceeding $50 billion.
For his part, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the summit held by the alliance's leaders reflected a strong sense of unity, adding, "We felt that this alliance is more cohesive than ever."
Alliance leaders called on Iran to respect the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, given the vital importance of the maritime corridor for the security and stability of global trade and energy, emphasizing that the alliance's position calls for preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The statement affirmed the necessity of preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons.
A source who participated in the NATO summit meeting mentioned that U.S. President Donald Trump assured his European allies that the United States intends to remain within NATO, clarifying that Trump told the allies during the plenary session of the Ankara Summit, "We want to stay with you."
The summit declaration text comes hours after Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the alliance's member states over several issues, most notably the U.S. desire to acquire Greenland and the lack of contribution to the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
