دعت باكستان اليوم (الأربعاء) جميع الأطراف (أمريكا وإيران) إلى التحلي بضبط النفس والامتناع عن أي إجراءات قد تقوض السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة، مؤكدة أنه لا بديل عن مواصلة الحوار والدبلوماسية لتحقيق هدف إحلال السلام الإقليمي.
وأعربت باكستان عن بالغ قلقها إزاء تصاعد التوترات في المنطقة، مشيرة إلى أن تجدد الصراع لا يصب في مصلحة أي طرف.
وأوضحت الخارجية الباكستانية في بيان، ضرورة التزام جميع الأطراف بتعهداتها الواردة في مذكرة التفاهم في إسلام آباد، مؤكدة أنها تشكل أساساً راسخاً للتفاهم والاحترام المتبادل والازدهار المشترك للمنطقة وما بعدها.
وأكدت إسلام آباد استعدادها لمواصلة دورها في هذا الشأن.
وتبادلت إيران وأمريكا التهديدات بعد استهداف طهران لثلاث ناقلات أمس (الثلاثاء) وما تبعه من قصف أمريكي على مواقع في جنوب إيران.
ولوح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بالعودة لفرض الحصار، مهدداً بقصف قوي هذه الليلة.
من جهته، أوضح وزير الحرب الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث أن القوات الأمريكية ستوجه ضربات إلى إيران الليلة إذا طلب الرئيس ترمب ذلك، مشيراً إلى أن واشنطن قد تعيد فرض حصار بحري على إيران.
ونقلت «سي إن إن» عن مسؤول أمريكي قوله: «ندرس خطواتنا القادمة ضد إيران بعد جولة ضربات وضعت الاتفاق بيننا على حافة الانهيار».
بدورها، أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية أن هناك أكثر من 20 سفينة حربية أمريكية تنفذ دوريات في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
Pakistan today (Wednesday) called on all parties (the U.S. and Iran) to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that could undermine peace and stability in the region, emphasizing that there is no alternative to continuing dialogue and diplomacy to achieve the goal of regional peace.
Pakistan expressed its deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region, noting that the resurgence of conflict does not serve the interests of any party.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry clarified in a statement the necessity for all parties to adhere to their commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding in Islamabad, asserting that these commitments form a solid foundation for mutual understanding, respect, and shared prosperity for the region and beyond.
Islamabad confirmed its readiness to continue its role in this regard.
Iran and the U.S. exchanged threats following Iran's targeting of three tankers yesterday (Tuesday) and the subsequent American airstrikes on sites in southern Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to reinstate the blockade, warning of strong bombings tonight.
For his part, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that American forces would strike Iran tonight if President Trump requested it, indicating that Washington might reinstate a maritime blockade on Iran.
CNN reported an American official saying, "We are considering our next steps against Iran after a round of strikes that put the agreement between us on the brink of collapse."
For its part, the U.S. Central Command announced that there are more than 20 American warships conducting patrols in the Middle East.
